We have a new event coming up!

Based on the responses to the survey we posted at the beginning of the year in our Discord server, we will be hosting a SteveTony Darkfests Reverse Big Bang! The goal of the event is to create more dark themed fanworks for Steve/Tony. Interpret "dark" as you see fit. We hope you participate! (Join our server here)

Requirements:

Artists must submit an original piece, either traditional or digital work.

Writers must submit a minimum of 3,000 words. There's no maximum cap.

Schedule:

Submissions for art opens on June 1st.

Art drafts must be submitted on July 1st.

Claims open on July 12th.

Writing from July 15-September 10th.

Posting begins on September 18th.

Anon: What do you think of the Ultimate Nick Fury? I think Millar intended him to be a shit person with some redeeming traits but nobody writing Ultimate line except maybe Loeb really got it and his character just never ended up going anywhere? I mostly just rememebr that moment from Ultimate Avengers where it turned out he in few month somehow cheated on his wife with every single female relative and associate she had. And it was meant to be taken seriously.

That scene you’re mentioning was written by Millar himself, and I honestly cannot even begin to understand what he wa trying to accomplish with it. It was just plain bizzare. I didn’t mind Ultimate Nick Fury, but as the Ultimate universe progressed, he became more and more... I guess I’ll have to use the term “flanderized”? He started as a genius spy and master strategist, and by the end became a god among mortals capable of outwitting everything and everyone, twelve steps ahead to everyone else, to the point he made every other character look like a child. Something similar happened with 616 Fury, and I didn’t like that much as well. There’s a point when a scheming characters become too good at schemes... it’s the same problem you find with the “Batman’s prep time” thing.
