Rearranging the contents of someone’s bedroom. Is not funny. Not a good prank.
I was going to work on an essay today but I just had to spend the past six hours putting everything back and taking it out of haphazard piles and I’m still not done.
Not only have they pissed me off they gave me busy work that has fucked my plans.
Seriously before doing any kind of prank actually THINK about how that shit’s going to affect someone’s day.
I was scrolling through my instagram and saw that video from the premiere of the first mission impossible red carpet where that guy pranks him by spraying him with water and I got to thinking about it just now.
And before you say anything yes I know times were different and it happened years ago
(I was actually a very sick toddler in the hospital when the first mission impossible movie came out)
in my opinion I think he handled it extremely well considering the fact that it was so sudden and rude.
He was dressed so well and was probably nervous and wanted to look his best and then you don’t know what could have been in that water too.
and I think the guy should have been grateful that tom even stopped by to say anything to him.
and the prankster was going to just leave but tom grabbed him and I think he handled the guy like a parent would have done a child acting out
By looking in his eyes and telling him that he was being rude and that wasn’t okay what he did and it actually looked like the prankster was crying after tom scolded him.
Now I know he could have laughed and moved on but I think a lot of people forget some people hate being pranked and it wasn’t funny
I personally hate pranks like that deeply I find them hurtful and annoying.

I don't like people hurting or upsetting others as a joke
I don't like jokes at another persons expense.
I don't find those gotcha gift unwrapping videos funny
I don't think its funny to make anyone cry
I thought the trend of cracking an egg on a kids head should have been looked into for child abuse...
Pranks or jokes that feed into/trigger someone's trauma are never funny.
I don't like to scare people or make them feel anxious
I wouldn't like to feel that way so I don't want to make others feel that way.
Lastly...baiting someone into being angry is NOT funny in the slightest. (I especially hate when parents bait their kids into being angry then punish them for getting upset or not taking it as a joke... you are teaching them their feelings mean nothing to you. that you only care that they 'ruined' the mood and 'can't take a joke' you show them the joke is more important to you then they are. They very well might grow up with repressed emotions and could end up in abusive situations later bc you have taught them repeatedly that they are 'overreacting' every time they defend themselves from mean people so they will start to just take the abuse quietly. They also might not feel comfortable setting boundaries with the people in their lives later on bc they have ingrained into themselves that that is a bad thing that gets you yelled at.) you can say I am wrong or over exaggerating but I have seen it happen time and time again. -Pranks can be harmless if you remember to confuse and amuse not abuse. and remember if the person you pranked is upset, your prank failed and you need to apologize and discuss with that person if they are even okay with pranks in the future and if they say no then respect that. I just don't find it funny to hurt someone emotionally or physically. maybe its just me, yanno it could be just me. but personally I think if you can't make a joke without hurting or upsetting someone maybe you are just not good at comedy?
as an autistic person who hates april fools' day because of the amount of lies i get made fun of for believing, i hope tumblr keeps the boop feature forever

"prank" Christmas presents for kids needs to be a trend that stops this year. It is not funny and needlessly cruel
you set the kid up to look like a brat bc they get upset/confused that inside the Nintendo box there's a banana and a can of tuna but what reaction did you want? honestly? Did you want them to smile and say thank you? did you want them to laugh? I truly don't get it. DId you want them to get angry? well it worked oh but wait!! now you are getting mad at them for throwing a tantrum bc they are sad and crying and now you're yelling at them about 'being greatful' for trash...for some reason... so now you have effectively ruined a Christmas memory for the kid when you could have simply given them the gift right there and let them have that truly excited moment but you had to make it about you and ruin it for them?? wtf is wrong with some parents.
