ok but lan wangji and su she for the amnesia thing (I mean, jgy/nmj comes to mind too otherwise, but I feel these two would be really awful)

For some reason I imagine this happening in the timeskip, because, just - imagine Su She bursting into Jinlin Tower going “JGY you have to help me, he TRUSTS ME” and JGY being like. “what? who? what is happening?”

“LWJ!!!” 

“...what.”

Because LWJ just wandered out of seclusion and out of the Cloud Recesses when no one was looking and went right into some night-hunt somewhere that Su She is attending because he has to attend, he’s a sect leader now, and out of all the people in the night-hunt went “ah yes, you, you are the trustworthy one” at Su She. Su She.

Su She is like “...what? no I’m not” before he thinks twice about it

and LWJ is all “ah yes. definitely the trustworthy one. he feels the weight of trust so deeply that he is concerned he will not live up to it. clearly I have made the right choice here.”

now Su She feels...guilt? is it guilt? is it just concentrated awkwardness? does he have to live up to this now? this is more responsibility than he wanted. he doesn’t want any responsibility, least of all with the Lan sect. he doesn’t even LIKE LWJ, which he makes perfectly clear but for some reason that just makes LWJ look even happier with him and that’s just - no. stop. don’t make that face. that face is weird. I have preconceptions about you that make up a solid fourth of my underlying personality, please stop messing with them.

so obviously Su She takes LWJ back to the Lan sect under the assumption that the only reason he cleaved to him was because Su She was the only other one wearing Lan sect-ish colors, except...it doesn’t work. he doesn’t trust them, doesn’t know them, doesn’t seem to care to know them, even

it’s like he’s imprinted or something

so now he’s following Su She around like a DUCKLING and it’s AWKWARD and damnit, JGY, STOP LAUGHING THIS IS NOT FUNNY how am I supposed to go carry out your evil plans if I have paragon of righteousness Hanguang-jun following me around and saying “I’m sure you have a good reason for this”???

Moshang old habits? Don't remember that one XD

Old habits die hard, and Shang Qinghua knew it well since he had tried to kill them many times during his second life.

It was kind of useless for a xianxia cultivator to show millennial behaviours, making him stand out even more in a negative way among his peers with his queer quirks that nobody knew ho to deal with.

So along the years that Airplane had lived as a mousy nobody, he had tried to leave behind his modern man's mentality and blend in with all the other nobodies who inhabited the twelve peaks of Cang Qiong sect.

More so, for the fact that he had been transmigrated into the body of the mole of his story. Airplane knew it was vital for him to be overlooked.

Then Cucumber bro had arrived in the universe born from his novel, and the story became history in a completely different way.

(Was writing this as one of my funny ficlets but it what follows after this was getting a bit too dark to go with the theme of the collection, so maybe one day I'll finish it as a stand alone story)

He’s a cat, simple as that. If there’s even one ray of sunshine that’s where you’ll find him, usually with his table full of work. It’s a joke that it’s a wander table, because where the sun goes the table and Jiang Cheng goes, but it’s mostly for appearances.

Jiang Cheng takes the time to pretend to work, but he dozes off sooner rather than later, sometimes draped uncomfortably over the table until a well-meaning disciple manages to wedge a pillow between him and the table.

Jiang Cheng doesn’t sleep much at night but he naps more than enough during the day, and his disciples make sure that he always gets a chance to be undisturbed too.

The other Sect Leaders desperately pray for bad weather whenever they write to Sect Leader Jiang, because they know a repsonse could take weeks otherwise.

m. got any premises on the back burner that you'd care to share?

i have a far-too-long list of fics I want to write at some point, definitely! highlighting a few that aren't active WIPs but are still in the 'probably gonna get to these' bucket:

- a jadecest + xiyao (+ a bit of suyao) Crimson Peak AU

- a jiang cheng/xue yang sorta-hatefucking fic set during the timeskip, where JC captures XY and XY alternates pretending to try different methods to resurrect WWX (pretending because he's already tried them all on someone ELSE that doesn't want to come back, he knows they don't work) with encouraging JC to proxyfuck WWX through him

- the one where LXC resurrects su she using demonic cultivation as part of him shrugging and going 'fuck it, anything to get jgy back', and lots of not-quite-hatefucking-it's-more-complicated occurs as they attempt to work together

- one of only 2 wangxian ideas I've had, a darkfic where WWX comes back pissed when he comes back to life, and Lan Wangji still blows everything else off to stand with him, despite WWX being obviously doubtful of his motives; basically a lot of WWX going Full Yiling Laozu and being mean to LWJ... at least until LWJ manages to prove his loyalty in a somewhat drastic way

Only one bed is so gooood. Let them YEARN. Let them snuggle ~accidentally~. LET THEM WAKE UP IN THE MORNING, LOOK AT THEIR BELOVED, AND THINK 'OH IF ONLY I COULD HAVE THIS FOR THE REST OF OUR DAYS.' YAAAAS.

The accidental baby acquisition is also a delicious trope, though I'd have to add that I probably wouldn't love it for every possible ship. There are ships like Wangxian that are practically BEGGING for it, but likewise there are other ships where I'd probably not enjoy it that much. Parent material is required ehehehe, I want those babies parented WELL.

Fire

From "and you will make it with your own hands", my Pacific Rim MDZS AU

Lotus Piers burned. Gusu’s teams arrived from their more northern posts just as the kaiju made landfall on the docks. It secreted a noxious slime that was extremely flammable, even over wet stone. The Jaegers had to rely on their plasma cannons: every errant hit of their swords against metal or stone could cause a spark that would ignite even more of the oil. Jiang Cheng rocked with the tremors that shook the command center. He was steady on his feet, as these shakes were nothing compared to being thrown around in a Jaeger. The command center was one of the most reinforced parts of the compound. Even as explosions rocked the hangers, this building would stand strong.

Yanli's Jaeger was the one to deal the killing blow, though Gusu's lead disciple point guard pinned it down for her. Relief seared through Jiang Cheng more powerfully than any time in his life the moment he could wrap his arms around his sister. Fire still burned in parts of the Piers, his parents were buried under a mile of ocean, but his sweet sister was here in his arms.

Doubt

From "Self-Defense", a Meng Yao/Nie Mingjue fic set in @the-pudding-is-a-lie 's Emperor Lan Xichen AU

They practiced these moves over and over for their allotted hour. General Nie worked with him slowly at first, to correct his form, then had him practice at speed until he could escape a grab in only a few seconds. He kept his hold light until the Advisor requested a tighter hold to practice against. By the end of the hour, the Advisor had worked up a sweat. General Nie guiltily eyed the bruises forming around his delicate wrists.

“I apologize, I did not mean to grab you so tightly.”

“No apology necessary,” was the smooth reply. “I need to defend myself against those that would mean me harm. I doubt they would be as considerate as you are.”

The General nodded, but it did not lessen the churning feeling in his stomach. “I will have the healers send a salve to aid in their healing. Discreetly, of course.”

“Of course.”

Hope

From "Take Love by the Reins", my Meng Yao/Nie Mingjue Horse Girl Hallmark Movie AU. The first chapter is out on AO3 now!!

“I’ll show you around while we feed the herd, then we’ll get you started on safety basics. I hope you brought comfortable shoes, you’ll be walking a lot.”

“Oh, well I hope they’re comfortable!” Meng Yao laughs and slathers jam on his bread. Nie Mingjue furrows his brows, ducking his head under the table to look at Meng Yao’s shoes.

“Are you... did you bring brand new cowboy boots?” His voice is incredulous. 

“Yes? Loafers and sneakers weren’t going to cut it.”

“Alright, City Boy, we’ll make sure we have blister bandaids for you later. Or I’ll see if we have some better boots lying around.” He pats his shoulder on the way to put his empty plate in the sink. He pauses, fingers still on the material. The fingertips pinch and rub it, assessing the stiffness. “Your shirt, too?!”

A flush of embarrassment sweeps over him; Meng Yao ducks his head as his neck heats. “I don’t exactly have a horse wardrobe just laying around. I didn’t want to wear work clothes here.”

💘 date headcanon:

jin zixuan’s rich, and gifts is one of his main love languages. nie huaisang is also rich, and gifts is a love language he’s fluent in (although his biggest love language is acts of service; revenge is an act of service, after all). this means that a leisurely stroll through a marketplace, buying each other any gift that happens to catch their eye, is an ideal date for them.

nie huaisang also advocates very strongly for luxurious and hedonistic “self care” date nights, but it’s harder to get jin zixuan to relax into those, so they don’t happen as often.

💎 marriage headcanon:

they elope. the “shock” of it gives jin guangshan a “fatal heart attack”. nie huaisang and jin guangyao share a knowing glance next time they meet. jin zixuan is oblivious.

🏥 taking care of injuries headcanon:

to jin zixuan, injuries are bad specifically as blows to his pride rather than as sources of pain and damage to the body. he doesn’t exactly hide injuries, per se, but if they’re not life- or mobility-threatening, he does full on ignore them even when other people can see them. nie huaisang bullies jin zixuan into letting him treat them, and he also makes a point to kiss any cuts, scrapes, or bruises that jin zixuan may acquire, bc he enjoys seeing the battle between jin zixuan’s wounded pride and his enjoyment of the kisses.

if nie huaisang’s the one injured, however... with anyone else he would cry and wail and fake extreme distress to get sympathy and wiggle his way out of responsibilities, but jin zixuan gets panicked and overprotective over even a little splinter, so nie huaisang doesn’t even have to put any additional effort into getting his boyfriend to pamper and take care of him when he’s hurt! it’s perfect! he loves this!
