we mourn the empirical fastenings

beheaded

as they had their time, so shall I

as they loved, so shall I

as they died in a thousand ways,

fractals spinning through space

through the human mind

eternally soaring in mist and

touching heaven for but a moment

before all, all is lost

and down they fall into the black

window of obscurity;

so shall I.

Perhaps the most consistent flaw in my way of thinking is this belief that I'm not meant for love or happiness. Life follows this pattern of brief periods of good in which I get my hopes up and just when something may properly change I find myself once more on the floor of the cage. I'm good with patterns, I know when things are most likely to happen. Still I allow myself to believe, I foolishly forget that this is the pattern that follows. I can't change this, I cannot do anything about what happens and therefore how I'm seemingly wired to view my life.
