So finally remembering that I watched IF I decided to take another look at the cast and oh my god have I forgotten the amount of people I recognize so here’s a random shitpost about the people I forgot/didn’t realize were in the movie
First of all John Krasinski not only played Bea’s dad but the burning marshmallow
Steve Carell voiced Blue and it wasn’t hard to distinguish his voice
Phoebe Waller-Bridge voiced Blossom
Emily Blunt voiced Unicorn
Matt Damon voiced Sunny, can’t believe they got Jason Bourne to play a sunflower therapist
Sam Rockwell as Guardian Dog which is kinda ironic cause he voices Mr. Wolf in The Bad Guys
Christopher Meloni voiced Cosmo which is fitting since he played Elliot Stabler in Law and Order so I’m 100% certain that while creating Cosmo they were like “Hey we should get that one dude from Law and Order to voice him” also the mental imagine of him in a sound booth yelling “CLOAK AND DAGGER” is funny to me
Awkwafina voiced Pop and like Steve it was easy to tell it was her
Blake Lively voiced Octopuss
George Clooney as Spaceman, the space joke was funny to me
Bradley Cooper as Ice, went from voicing a raccoon to a glass of ice
Amy Schumer voiced Gummy Bear, loved her in Trolls (she voiced Velvet)
Keegan-Micheal Key as Slime who reminds me of the Bounty Paper commercials
Bill Hader as the Banana
And lastly Brad Pitt as Keith, nice to see the original Ocean’s 11 trio in a movie again.
Which of my guys do you like/are intrigued by most? (Papyrus style)
Dusk (Horrorfell)
Ice (Invertedfell)
Elester (Demon!Fell)
Dos (Glitchfell)
Clover (Sweetswap)
Lace (Lovefell)
Unnicknamed (Heartfell)

Focusing on my more unique guys. Void is disqualified bc he always sweeps every poll like this I put him in if the main boys aren't included
This doesn't mean anything I'm just curious ✨ Write ins welcome if anyone has a specific guy they like I didn't put in here. Will make another one for the Sanses of these AUs too (for the most part)
All contenders r tagged in the original post for references 👍
Au headcanons for !!! A bunch of random ones actually lol
✿ In sweetswap, everything is very pastel and soft looking, for the most part, so after surfacing, monsters are genuinely taken aback and a bit surprised how saturated and dense the colours of the surface are. They thought the books and movies might've been artistically exaggerated...
✿ Ice, Invertedfell Papyrus, doesn't have the soft spot for animals most other Fell Papyri have, but he'd actually be excellent at caring for them, and generally finds them easier to deal with than other monsters lol
✿ Void, of Vesselfell fame /j, wasn't always like that! I don't think I address it very often, but he didn't become a Vessel until around 12 ish. Before then, he was almost just a regular Fell Papyrus.
✿ Sylv, Underswap Undyne, focuses a lot more on biological sciences as the Royal Scientist. She's nearly more akin to a medical doctor with her knowledge and specialties, while Axel, Alphys, still has an interest in tech. They still met the same way as in Undertale...
✿ I'm not sure if I've talked about it here or not, but I have a Sometimes-Headcanon that after surfacing Underfell Asgore basically goes into a sort of permanent assistance/rehab type place. It's years before anyone visits (after the one time Gerson does shortly after surfacing), the first being Undyne, and then eventually Papyrus a few years later. Someone comes to check in him at least every few years after that. He’s...content, there.
✿ I've always kind of liked the idea of Grillby having hypnotizing magic, though he rarely if ever uses it, and it's not super strong/wears off quickly
✿ Dusk, Horrorfell Papyrus, can't paint like he used to, but he eventually comes to find comfort in doing what he can, mostly using his knuckles and laying a canvas flat on the floor. Sometimes his cats help lol
✿ Patch, Horrortale Sans, prefers milder weather, making Fall his favorite season. He’s not a fan of Halloween, but sometimes he'll nap in a pile of leaves when he’s done (or taking a break from) raking.
✿ Lace, Lovefell Papyrus, likes doing crafts! Of all kinds. Beading, embroidery, crocheting, wood burning (I can't remember what it's called, when you draw in wood by burning it), sewing, you name it! If it can be done by hand, he enjoys doing it <3
✿ Iris, Underswap Toriel, is an incredible singer. She sounds classically trained, and back in the day, people could hear her singing all the time. It's not so common anymore, but every once in a blue moon, she can be heard singing quietly in the throne room.
To kind of differentiate/clarify, I decided to start a little "chart" explaining the characterizations of Invertedfell as opposed to a swapped au
The baseline I've been working from is essentially: the characters are the same at their core, but all of their main characteristics are the linear opposites of those traits. So like, opposite ends of the same spectrum kind of deal
I haven't finished it and it's just been sitting in my wips, but since I'd done a few, I decided to post at least those
Flowey, Toriel, Sans, & Papyrus below the cut
Flowey
UT - sarcastic, bitter, lonely, OG Flowey is the reincarnation of a child whose final days caused significant enough trauma he believes himself emotionless and regularly participates in self destructive actions.
⬇️
UF - scared, resentful, exhausted, the way I generally interpret uf Flowey is the reincarnation of an anxious, yet feebly hopeful child who's greatest fears were realized and had what little innocence he'd retained stripped from him violently. He'd struggled with acceptance initially, but over time, was worn down into someone just as desperate and tired as everyone else...
⬇️
IF - calm, quiet, avoidant, instead of sinking into despair and resentment, he'd swayed more toward despondent. Overwhelmed and afraid of experiencing hope only to be let down again, instead of anger he is averse, wishing to abandon his world the way it'd abandoned him. Yet he can't entirely let go all the same...
~
Toriel
UT - kind, self righteous, isolated, Toriel is shown to be a very motherly person, but it is made clear quickly that she's been through much and it has affected her deeply.
⬇️
UF - fearful, manic, desperate, with the stakes much higher than in UT, I imagine her UF counterpart's experiences splintered what meager stability she'd originally retained. At times unpredictable, she does still care, but the way she shows it can be dangerous.
⬇️
IF - detached, withdrawn, despondent, falling less into the brink of madness, she shut down instead. Cold and aloof, she tries to sever her own feelings to maintain her sanity, and actively avoids others to the best of her ability, no longer wanting to play a role in this twisted game.
~
Sans
UT - laid back, weary, secretive, most think of Sans' humor as his defining character trait, but we can see throughout the individual runs, Sans tends toward being passive aggressive, pessimistic, and outright sad. He’s weighed down by responsibility and a stubborn attachment to hope he seems to resent at the worst of times, yet it's what enables him to endure despite.
⬇️
UF - disingenuous, anxious, miserable, the way I interpret uf Sans is essentially just Sans but with significantly worse depression. Not only has he accumulated the same perceived failures as his original self, but he’s bogged down by many new ones, too. He’s beyond exhausted, deflects with dark humor often, but aside from coming across more tense and a little more cruel, he’s not all that different from his original counterpart.
⬇️
IF - aggressive, unstable, stubborn, under similar pressures, he instead swayed more toward desperation than apathetic acceptance. Paranoid and willing to do whatever it takes to protect himself and his brother, he’s given up that stubborn shred of hope in a ditch effort just to keep surviving.
~
Papyrus
UT - boisterous, optimistic, indecisive, Papyrus might come across as naive and conceited, but it becomes clear quickly that he’s more aware than he lets on. He is fickle, changing his opinions and goals often and frequently throughout the game, yet stubbornly remains upbeat and positive, no matter what.
⬇️
UF - brash, uncertain, defensive, the way I interpret uf Papyrus draws mostly from his reflectiveness, that despite still being optimistic and wanting similar things to his original counterpart, he’s learned to mask or disregard these things to better his chances of surviving and taking care of his brother.
⬇️
IF - standoffish, deceitful, driven, with the shift in everyone else, again, Papyrus reflects. As his brother became less predictable, the person he had to become instead is a pillar. "Ruthless" and interested only in what will keep him and his brother safe.
~
And as always, this isn't carved in stone. The more I work on this au these characterizations may change some as I grow more familiar with them, but! Feel free to ask questions abt these guys or anything else for this au ✨
Can you tell me about the Invertedfell siblings and their personalities?
I'd be happy to!
So, Ice and Pin are sort of the polar opposite ends of the same spectrum as Edge and Red. A lot of their behaviors are rooted in the same reasoning and experiences, but if they responded in the natural opposite way to how they did in UF.
I think a good way to exemplify that is with their respective schticks. Publicly, Edge acts loud, aggressive, prideful and self assured, while Red acts careless, bored, facetious and rude. But counter to that, Ice acts quiet, detached, and entirely uncaring, while Pin acts unstable, aggressive, and hypervigilant.
Both Papyri come across intimidating and generally unlikeable, and both have built this persona in an effort to protect themself and their brother. Both Sanses come across as entirely untrustworthy and self serving, and both have built their personas with the predominant intention of protecting their brother while also making it appear they mean very little to each other.
That being said, there are also slight differences that come from how these changes had also impacted their past. One example would be that Pin had emphasized the importance of safety above anything, so the IF brothers are less concerned about hiding their hand, making them seem generally more threatening than the UF brothers, as others are more aware of their strength and capability.
Unfortunately for Ice, this means the changes are also slightly less superficial, due to my general hc of Papyri being more reflective of their worlds and influences. He and his brother have some of the worst communication amongst any of my guys, but not because of arguments or friction, he simply wound up focusing on surviving and how best to go about that over anything internal, including his actual relationship with his brother.
Pin prefers it that way. It keeps Papyrus safer in his mind, and honestly he doesn't actually know if Papyrus is as loyal to him as he is to Papyrus, but he doesn't really care. He stopped caring about making it out of there a long time ago.
To others though, it doesn't look like either brother really cares about the other beyond how they're safer as a team. Sans is...off putting, to say the least. He’s jumpy, always nervous about something, easy to set off and usually responds with violence. He doesn't like playing games, but he does at least try to mind himself enough not to get him or his brother into trouble with the king.
Ice on the other hand really lives up to his nicknamesake. He doesn't emote, except to scowl sometimes, he is completely serious and doesn't tolerate others acting foolishly in his presence. He says what he needs to, no more, no less, and it's near impossible to know if someone's on his good side or bad side. Or rather, everyone's on his bad side until proven otherwise lol
Deep down, they're not too different from the UF brothers, Ice does care, he’s just learned to repress that part of himself very well, while Pin would genuinely ease up a bit if he truly started feeling safe. They're actually a little like Ghost and Haze too, but I suppose that makes sense haha
