Honestly it’s kinda nuts I hadn’t done this already given how well suited the entire concept of amphibia is to the au. The girls are teleported to an amphibious world after all. It’s a pretty easy setup for a pirate au just to have the girls get sent to Amphibia same as usual but instead of finding a world of swamps they find an expansive world of seas and islands. The world is largely unmapped territory, but the kingdom is intent on charting all of it, and gathering the whole thing into one land ruled over by their own power. The typical roles of the different species in the kingdom have the newts taking care of planning, organization, and most importantly designing ships and weapons to further their goal. A toad usually has one of two jobs, either a shipwright working in newtopia, or as a soldier manning one of the fortresses and outposts on all of the islands the kingdom has charted. Frogs are usually fishers and traders.
The girls all end up with the same people as they do in the actual show, with a few key differences. Andrias takes advantage of Marcy’s intellect to give her a position as the lead designer of the ships and technology for the navy, as well as being the navy’s main strategist, but due to the nature of her position and the broad expanse of the world she’s kept confined in the castle “for her own protection” as she’s not a fighter and they can’t risk letting her stray too far in case they need her. Sasha lands on the main outpost on a central island, but the Grime of this world is a bit more laid back, due to not getting to see as much fighting and action, as the outpost position is more defensive than offensive, and there hasn’t been much in the way of pirates lately. Sasha makes a deal with him to work out something that isn’t getting thrown in jail, he agrees to take her on as a sort of partner as long as she agrees to spar with him regularly. He’s bored and wants a fight and she acts like she can give him one. She agrees to his conditions, and becomes his second in command rather quickly. Wartwood is less a town and more so a fleet of small time ships with vessels like fishing boats, traders, crafters, and other such practical services. They find Anne on an abandoned island and save her from being stranded there, and she manages to worm her way into everyone’s hearts as she tends to do.
As a result of their new positions, Sasha and Marcy both end up rather trapped in this new world, Marcy can’t leave the castle, and Sasha feels stuck at an outpost where nothing happens except just keeping watch on the ocean every day. She quickly gets a sense for why Grime was so bored and desperate for anything interesting to happen when she got there. The only one who really has a chance to do anything is Anne, and oh boy does she get to do things. Traveling with the frogs she sees so much of the world and experiences many new things, and her relationship with Sprig and the other Plantars becomes just as strong as it’s meant to be. Eventually though, as the seasons change, the Wartwood Fleet has to make their way from one part of the oceans to another, and as they pass through they’re required to pass inspection from the toads in the main outpost.
Sasha sees the Wartwood Fleet coming through a telescope on top of the tower long before they get there, and she can see Anne standing out in the front of one of their ships, and she’s extremely excited. Anne’s there now, she’s got one of the two people she needs to find, and after that they can find a way home together. The frogs are all thrown off by the massive reception they get from the tower as they pull in, until Anne sees Sasha and runs up to her, and the two reunite. They’re both just really excited to see each other at first, and things are going really well until the next day when the Plantars tell Anne if the fleet doesn’t leave that day they won’t make it to their trading destinations on time. Before Anne can say anything Sasha answers for her that Anne isn’t going with them, she’s staying there. Anne isn’t ready or willing to say goodbye to her frog family, and she almost says something against Sasha but isn’t able to make herself do it, until Sprig asks her directly what she wants. Sasha is annoyed and frustrated, responding with a dismissive ‘pay attention frog kid we’ve already decided.’ And Anne does a sort of ‘hey you can’t talk to him like that.’ And suddenly shit goes down. At first there’s no fighting, but still it’s clearly imposed on Sasha’s heart that Anne has betrayed her for ‘these stupid frogs.’
Anne tells Sasha that now that she knows where Sasha is, Anne can go looking for Marcy and when she finds her she can send a message to the outpost, or just bring her back there. Sasha, instead of accepting the deal, just turns to Grime and tells him to inform the kingdom that the Plantars and their whole fleet have secretly been working as pirates, and are to be placed in high wanted status. She tries to use the new danger of traveling with the Plantars to convince Anne to stay but instead Anne decides she needs to get out of there as soon as possible. She makes a break for it with the rest of the Wartwood crew, and Sasha is left abandoned and alone, save for Grime.
After running away, the fleet realizes they’re pretty much done for. They won’t be able to show their faces anywhere with their bounties the way they are, which is a death sentence for a trading fleet. Everyone’s pretty dejected and has more or less given up, at which point Sprig just kinda goes “hey, if they’re gonna say we’re pirates anyway, why don’t we just. Become pirates?” At first it’s one of those suggestions where Hop-Pop is like hush up boy that’s ridiculous, but then they think about it and they’re kinda like. Huh. Wait. That could work. So they manage to turn their several separate fishing and trading small boats into a larger pirate ship with the assistance of their shipwright Loggle. They’ve got Stumpy and the Sundews as chefs. They pick up Maddie the sea witch along the way. Sprig mans the crows nest and takes the role of sniper. Ivy and Polly are fighters. Wally’s the crew’s musician. Everyone sorta falls into their own roles, and Sasha accidentally creates one of the most influential pirate crews in the current times. Lots of small time amphibians who feel like the kingdom’s rule is stifling are inspired by tales of a pirate ship manned by common frogs, and thus beguns a big influx of pirates in the world of amphibia.
The new pirate era of amphibia is only partially drawn in by their crew though. There’s one other ship that’s called forth a whole different genre of new pirates. After being abandoned at the outpost, Sasha decided she had enough of sitting around doing nothing, and she absolutely refused to stay there a second longer. She initially planned to steal a ship and sneak off in the night, but when she went down to the ship she had intended to steal, she found Grime had already fully stocked it with both supplies and soldiers. He wanted to get out of there as much as she did and this was as convenient an excuse as any. Plus he wasn’t gonna let her go off on her own at this point. Of course, abandoning their posts would mean absolute hell for them, but they figured if they were gonna do it they were gonna do it all the way. So Sasha and Grime became outlaws in their own right, the second crew that inspired the new rush of piracy and legend in Amphibia.
At this point both Sasha and Anne are at the head of their own pirate crews, with their own ideologies, each unknowingly spawning one of two new factions of pirates across the seas. Without ever having really set the details of their search, it was clear what they were doing. It was a race between the two to explore the world, search the legends, see everything there was to see, all to be the first one to find Marcy, the girl neither had seen any sign of since landing there. Meanwhile they face constant conflict between both other pirate factions, and the royal navy, whose ships and weapons outclassed anything the pirates could offer, due to the efforts of the very girl they were trying to find.
They hugged because they’re so cute but my brain screamed “ANGST” so I drew something (Also I call the new ghoul Phantom and nothing else but I will tag him with the alternate names :))

Headcanon that Phantoms summoning was really violent & a lot went wrong. The right (his right, our left) side of his face and shoulder was burnt by the Hellfire. He underwent weeks of special healing & permanent damage was mitigated by his quintessence but the scar of white, discoloured skin is a constant reminder of the fear and pain he went through. Phantom has nightmares about the day, mentally reliving that burning sensation as skin melted away from flesh. He seeks comfort from the other ghouls.
There’s only nudity because idk what clothes to put them in but then I decided it’s “artistically significant & meaningful” cus it displays vulnerability or whatever. See how essay writing’s made me bullshit every thought process?-
