From this post.
First full grown strawberry!
I shared it with youngest and it was *so good*!!! I am exceedingly excited for someone who, only a few months ago, had little desire to grow a sunflower with my own kid. That's growing too, although it's leaves still aren't the best.
I'm pretty sure that middle thing is the head of the flower. Aaaaaaah!
I will admit, most of the other seedlings haven't gone much further than this stage -> 🌱 <- but it's all a learning process. Will I retain much of this for next year? Who knows, but to paraphrase one of my customers today, "I'm in my gardening era."
Are there any robots in the steamworks that aren't destroyed? Or other monsters that are helping with consoling? That must've been one big hit.
So I am practicing, if you wanna see something illustrated just like send me an ask or message!
So a while back Youngest was sent home with a plant pot. "There's a sunflower in there. Just take pictures and send them in."
Its started off great.
You can actually see the stalks reaching for the sun. But then it got all floppy, so I gave it some support.
And I've been trying to give it outside time in the sun.
Well, today was the day I went and got some all purpose soil stuff, some bigger pots, and rehomed the original plant into a bigger pot, because as you can see, it looks droopy af.
B&Q is a diy shop in the UK. They have a gardening section. I am not a gardener and yet.
And yet.
I came out with a bunch of plant pots, some soil stuff, a raspberry plant and a strawberry plant.
I just wanted to rehome the sunflowers. 🙈
It took me far too long to realise I'd miscounted. One part row undone, four *double checks* four more to go. 😭
Fiber arts bingo!
Gave this to my sister today, so I can post it here now. So back in 2023, I was mega in my sewing era. I had made my dad a shirt (he still wears it and tells people I made it, even though he's dropped a few shirt sizes because of last year's health stuff), made my sister's partner a dice bag, and I might have even made my pj bottoms by then. Anyways, I started this patchwork elephant (the pattern was based off of Elmer). It moved house with us, with half the body made.
Its been half an elephant until this week. Yup, it's been half done for almost three years. But no more. I've finally finished it.
My sister loves her.
So this gave me the opportunity to practice sewing darts, sewing a curve, matching patches so things are (vaguely) straight, hand sewing... And it's finished actually looking like an elephant. XD
Second square done!
Never have I ever wanted so badly to take something that wasn't mine.
Bags and bags of unprocessed wool. 😭😭😭 And it's just sat there, all innocent. Not that I have the time to process the wool myself, but I can dream, ok?! 😂😭😂
