Beauty blogger mom calls out Kat Von D for anti-vaccine stance with heartwrenching story

After pregnant celeb Kat Von D said she was anti-vaccine on Instagram, a mom shared images of her ill son and a plea to parents to vaccinate kids.

So one of my special interests is cruelty free makeup and I recently found out that one of my favorite cruelty free brands is run by and anti-vaxxer. While she doesn’t mention wanting to not vaccinate her child because she’s afraid of autism her stance is still inherently ableist. 

Anti-vaxxers are selfish people who ignore the fact that they are putting people, specifically children, with immune deficiencies at risk for whatever ridiculous and arbitrary reasons they can come up with. Based on her original statement she seems to belong to the particular group of anti-vaxxers obsessed with avoiding anything that isn’t “natural” or “organic” because it’s “healthier.” 

This type of anti-vaxxer mentality is the one shared by people who fear-monger about the dangers of GMOs and don’t eat anything with “chemicals” in it, They believe that their “organic” lifestyle is the healthiest way to live when in reality they are just selfish, ignorant, assholes who are doing more harm than good. 

I thought she was cruelty free because she was a good person who cares for others but given her apathy towards those she puts in danger by choosing not to vaccinate her child it’s more likely that for her being cruelty free is an extension of her whole natural=superior mentality.

I will no longer be purchasing her products and to those who also love makeup and feel strongly about not supporting someone who cares so little for others I suggest buying from Nyx cosmetics instead. Nyx has a similar variety and style of makeup, is significantly cheaper, and is also cruelty free.

I do not know what it was exactly that made the day so fucked up. This Wednesday was just awful. My hair hides the free spot on the back of my head only with difficulty. From now on, I'm wearing a thin knit hat. Something absolutely atypical and unfamiliar to me. No matter, the main thing I see no one's hands in front of his face because he sees my naked skull.

However, the coronation was a colleague who spoke to me on the phone on my hair loss. I'm no one who keeps things very secret, nor do I care to tie my problems to anyone's nose. The colleague is from a very different department and although I find her otherwise nice, we have nothing to do with each other at all. So far I have only been with my family, closest friends and the colleagues I deal with on a daily basis and that I like to talk about. When it comes up, fifteen people officially know about it, except me.

Of course, I was curious where the relevant colleague knows. Her vague statement was that another colleague from her team had said something. I was buff. How could anyone with whom I have nothing to do and whom I had neither initiated nor asked for advice dare to reveal such things about me. Even more terrible, I find the idea that possibly one of my confidants has betrayed me.

My workday ended. So far I had / can still pull myself together. I am strong. I do not cry. At least not in the office. The path across the parking lot was already closing my throat. I breathed in the car. Done. My first reaction: cap down. Take a deep breath.

Then came the tears. A thick, never-ending stream of tears ran down my face. Alone I sat there in my little car in the middle of the parking lot and sobbed like a castle dog.

1 minute. 5 minutes. 10 mins. I still have to get the dog with my parents. My only really pleasant thought today. My little dear dog. The river of salty liquid was slowly drying up. I stroke my face, the skin still feels rough. I wiped the remainders of that fucking shit day from the face. Quiet. I strapped on, started the engine, and set off to pick up my dog ​​with my parents.

I hate this wednesday.

So tonight my sister saw this outside of the restaurant that she was in. They were raising money for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. She was able to work it out with the restaurant & they gave a certain percentage of her bill to them. I love seeing and hearing about people raising awareness for the disease that so many people, including myself, suffer from. It honestly means the world to me that she and so many others contributed. It's nice to see people spreading awareness in a creative way like this. I have the best sister. Made me tear up a little!! I wanted to share this with my fellow crohnies and ibder's :) love you guys!!
