I had the uncomfortable realization yesterday that when my friends as an adult (mostly all of a certain class) say things to me like "we forget you weren't there" when they talk about our history, there's an implied "we forget you aren't from our class background until you mention it" 🙃

...I only mention it because it means nothing to me but I'm very much their token friend! The type of person they were probably told not to talk to as kids.

And I didn't even really realize it til now...
