One that may or may not have been inspired by tulip's LAOFT series that I'm reading through:
Janus lies when he's nervous, just a kick reaction when he thinks he's in trouble left over from childhood. As an adult more often than not the most he gets in trouble with it is an eye roll or a blank stare. Not the best but certainly nothing that would put him in danger.
He also likes exploring the woods by himself. It's quiet and peaceful and all his nerves fall away between the trees. He's spent hours before hiking through nature with his backpack and sturdy boots. He knows when to turn around, he knows when to put his headphones on, he knows when to close his eyes- never once has he been caught unawares by the strangeness that bleeds between the trees.
Until of course he stumbles into an old abandoned building, almost castle like in structure and since the sun's still pretty high he doesn't feel nervous about peeking around it. Half an hour later the sun is down and the woods are coming alive with strange howls and he knows he's completely and utterly screwed. Especially when the most beautiful person he had ever seen (fae Janus, that's what fae were) climbed the steps and offers their hand. Scared as he is he can only stutter through lies and apologies and more lies as to who he was and why he was there and oh-god-please-let-this-work but instead of backing away, or even becoming angry, the fairy is intrigued.
Janus doesn't know how the hell he got here but suddenly he's in the very precarious position of being the fairy prince's latest catch and the one he lies for while standing outside his room as he sneaks out to do god knows what. That is until Prince Logan yanks him through a hole in the wall and brings him down to where he's been working on his escape, and Janus' freedom as well.
This au is just adventures of stir crazy fairy prince Logan and a very confused and very human Janus as they both find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time but being grateful for it anyway.
