To my fellow rock/RHCP fans:

I am currently and forever avoiding making posts about Kiedis not being a pædophile on my blog because if I do make a post about that topic, I still have that awful feeling that at least a few people will see said post and swear on the top of the highest mountain in the replies that he is one and I really do NOT want to start that old and infuriating argument again. We here all know he's never been a pædophile, but there ARE those ignorant dumbasses out there that still believe that he is because all they did was quickly glance at that one portion in his book, watched those YouTube documentaries about him and read certain unreliable articles about him and said "Yep, Anthony's a pædo!"

Also, me having to block those nimrods is a fucking pain in the ass, too, and I really do NOT want to bring any drama into my blog anymore either.

I never really cared about physical media (because I pirate everything I can), but with the switch 2 I find It very annoying that all their physical games are just a key and you need to download the real game on the console. Like I can't imagine the physical media people are like "well I can actually hold the thing you need to access the game" like yea if you download the game on a switch you can also hold the thing that is used to access the game because it's ON THE SWITCH and pirating the games to own them isn't much better because Nintendo has all their games in a big golden volt and if you manage to sneak in and get a game the second you put it on a switch Doug Bowser will kidnap your switch and lock it in a cage dangling over lava. So you don't really own your switch ether so the only way to truly own anything is to play mario kart with a keyboard and mouse and at that point you might as well just give up and live in the forest with nothing but what can fit in a backpack because no one wants to play mario kart with a keyboard and mouse.

I have made multiple incorrect statements in this post, for the sake of not spreading miss information while not altering or deleting the post I have highlighted all the miss information in the post and I recommend anyone seeing this post should check out the comment on this post by @tinybutternut in order to get more context.

Fake baby birds.

For some reason there have been a lot of incorrect and even fake images of baby birds going around. Perhaps you saw the AI generated fake baby peacock? The baby crow is a real photo of a real young avian... but it's not a crow (Turns out this fluffy little one is a baby rail-- more info here at the "corvid research blog" which has been mad about this photo for like years. )

Over on the Fediverse (most call it 'Mastodon') there are a lot of people posting about science and nature. @[email protected], Carl T. Bergstrom shared his photo of a (real) fledgling crow just a few hours out of the nest... just look:

This bird looks like the kind of kid who spends all their time talking to whatever adults will listen about their obsession with traffic light timing. At first? It's kinda cute and a little annoying, but then it

gets really interesting because it turns out some of the light timing problems are related to graph theory---(this got way too specific... But you know the type right? Always calls you Mr. ___ or Mrs. ___ even if you tell them not to?) If you love corvids you should follow Carl T. Bergstrom over on the Fediverse. Every day there's new drama with these guys.

The lovely crew at the UNAEL discord server brought to my attention this example of Sumerian in the wild, at Sumerian Cuts hair salon in Heidelberg, Germany. While these are cuneiform signs, they don’t have much to do with hair care.

Clockwise from top: 𒋼𒈾 ten means “to be cold, cool”, as in the temperature, or “to be calm”. 𒂼 ama is “mother”. 𒆠𒋅 ki ang is “to love”. And 𒀉 a means “arm, wing, strength, workforce, salary, time” among other things.

It seems they’ve borrowed these from a meme that’s gone around of various mostly-inaccurate Sumerian terms, since, for example, 𒆠𒋅 ki ang doesn’t mean “love” as a noun, just as a verb. And they seem to have taken 𒂼 ama from the compound 𒂼𒄄 amagi, popularly translated as “freedom” but more literally meaning “non-enslavement”, but failed to include the crucial second sign!

This is why every hair salon should have a Sumerian speaker on staff, of course. Thanks again to everyone over at the UNAEL server (which covers many ancient and endangered languages) for their detective work.
