I post about twisted wonderland! but I have many, many fandom interests aside from it. I mainly post memes, headcanons, and the occasional fic (etherealevenings on ao3).

My favorite characters are Vil Schoenheit and Cater Diamond <3 I also really love Rook, Riddle, Jamil, Lilia, and Azul (no particular order). The ships that are most important to me are Vilkei, Leorook, Azurido, and Azujami.

okay I had a thought a long time ago about riddle leaving marks on azul’s neck, and not noticing it until the next day in the cafeteria… and in a panic, he just casts Off With Your Head from a different table entirely to cover it. it inadvertently makes a much bigger scene than some arguably tame, barely visible marks would have caused.

re: rook rpf discussion (thought this was too off topic for the post, so.) thinking about rook as a cornerstone of the leona x reader community…. that has to exist in universe right. surely

YES. if there’s any rpf rook is writing, it’s leona x reader. okay, I feel like ruggie would know that leona rpf exists, and like to bring it up to him from time to time just to fw him. ruggie discovers one that’s just characterized so perfectly; in fact, it details an event that happened…earlier that day? and that’s how rook’s ao3 account gets found and leaked

also, I think rook would write cute little found family fics for neige and the dwarves. is it crazy to say I don’t think he would write about vil? he would leave nice comments for the people who do, though.

also re: not writing fic abt vil i feel like you’re right. there’s smth about portraying someone in a fic that just doesn’t go with rook and vil imo… i honestly could see him trying to keep vil away from the fanfic that inevitably exists about him bc it’s just another thing for him to scrutinize abt himself that really has … no impact on who he really is, if that makes sense. though i could see him reading rpf with vil involved LOLL. man twst rpf world must be crazy

help 😭😭 lowkey the concept of rook writing about the non-famous people at nrc is hilarious.

hear me out. we know he journals every night, usually detailing some things that made him happy throughout the day. what if it starts with him just appreciating the beauty of his classmates’ banter, for a few of them in particular. and then this kind of snowballs, because he starts going out of his way to witness these dynamics. the journal entries become less like journal entries and more like detailed documentation with flowery embellishments. he hides these pages behind his wallpaper along with the photos like you said, until the paper starts to peel again and a future generation of pomefiore students find it.

also, I imagine him changing the names of everyone just a little, enough to where it’s still extremely obvious who’s being discussed

hc that Idia has a mild form of central cyanosis (lack of oxygen in his blood -> blue-looking skin. central cyanosis presents around the mouth and the middle parts of the body rather than the extremities), leading to the blue tinge of his lips, under-eyes, and the pallor of his skin in general. specifically, hc that this is because his flame hair needs a lot of oxygen to be sustained, and the roots of his hair follicles siphon that oxygen from his blood stream, giving him hypoxia. this would also contribute to Idia's general aversion to physical exertion, aside from just having a dislike for it.

adding to this because now I'm thinking about the shroud curse. I see the shroud curse working either as a hyperactive immune response, or as a heightened metabolism for blot specifically—but which is more likely?

like, okay. blot is essentially a toxin generated by the body. there are a lot of compounds like that, usually produced as a byproduct (like blot is) that gets expelled pretty quickly. they get metabolized into other products (usually by the liver or kidney), excreted, or expelled as gas or through the skin. sometimes they get sequestered by things like lipids, which is how you can end up with higher levels of toxicity damage the longer you're exposed to something. I imagine this is what could happen with blot. either that, or it just remains in the bloodstream like ink (which seems more applicable to a fantasy setting. perhaps better not to overthink).

from what I remember of the shroud curse, blot is just "burned away," which I would treat as a form of metabolism. and this happens at a much faster rate for the shroud family than for regular mages, which could be induced by up-regulation of the fantasy proteins required to metabolize blot.

I think that makes more sense than it being an immune response, since the immune system doesn't generally target self-produced toxins. also, while the shrouds having to stay in STYX/tartarus (to give the curse blot to burn rather than their own magical energy) does remind me of immunocompromised situations, autoimmune disorders are usually limited to where the immune system is targeting healthy cells/tissues, etc. plus, I don't think the fantasy immune system would see blot as a "pathogen" to attack; I think it would see it more as a toxin (hence, metabolism would be involved).

however. however. the shroud curse also manifests in a way that burns away their own magical energy if they don't have enough blot to burn. in that sense, it seems to act like an autoimmune disorder, but only other certain conditions. and maybe that's where the fantasy element comes in.

all of this to say. idk where I'm going with this actually. I just like rationalizing magic. hope this wasn't too rambley

can't believe there were also vilkei crumbs in the anthology manga. I should have finished reading the anthologies so much earlier...

anyways! they came in together!! cater was having an actual conversation with vil, and either he asked for vil's help and vil agreed, or vil simply offered. this is huge for their friendship and makes me so happy.

I'm ngl, I did read v-kei as vilkei for half a second. also, vil being so enthusiastic to help cater the LMC is so cute (his enthusiasm does help to remind me that these aren't really canon, but I will take my crumbs where I can get them).

a silly little thought

According to Kalim, he does not eat food that either hasn’t personally been prepared by Jamil or hasn’t been taste tested for him before he consumes it. However, there are plenty of instances (namely in vignettes) where Kalim eats food made by someone else and/or without it being tasted tested first. One recent example of this is his La Bonbonnière card, where Kalim eats the cider jelly made for him by the patisserie.

Now, I’m pretty sure this is just done out of convenience so the devs don’t have to drop everything to consistently write Kalim worrying about his food (although this definitely does occur sometimes, like in Cloudcalling; Leona has to reassure Kalim that food bought from a stall is safe for him to have). But if we try to incorporate the lore I mentioned earlier 🤔 then does Jamil just… follow Kalim around, take bites of his food and sips of his drink, then stand by quietly while Kalim has a meal????? And the vignettes just don’t show this (they continue to focus on Kalim) to demonstrate to us, the viewers, how little Jamil and/or his presence matters relative to Kalim’s???

I keep thinking back to how Jamil acted during the Blazing Jewel concert when he stood next to Kalim 🧍‍♂️ Stoney faced, not speaking a single word, acting as if he’s operating on autopilot, just there to play support and make Kalim shine brighter while he recedes into the shadows…

When you think of every meal Kalim has ever had like that 💀 it takes on an almost eerie feeling, no? Jamil silently standing in the corner like a sleep paralysis demon… Not to mention it really emphasizes the disparity in social status between the two. It makes me feel especially bad for Jamil 💦
