Thinking about how implied it is that Gaster created deltarune or atleast our connection to it. Thinking about how it's always Toby's account that he hijacks. Thinking about creator of prophecy vs creator of game. Thinking about how those have the same name. Thinking about the parallel's between Toby and Gaster. Thinking about how Toby INSISTED there is only one ending. Thinking about how the prophecy ending is set up as something to be defied within the story.
Toby created both the game and the prophecy. A writer that wrote a story and yet urges those that come after it to reinterpret and change it. Thinking about the 10th anniversary livestream. Thinking about how Toby is both Gerson and Gaster. Creating one script, a controlled variable, and yet challenging us to improvise. An experiment where we are the independent variable and our interpretation and performance of the script is the dependent.
And somewhere along the way the roles shift. We become the dependent variable, changed by the changes we created.
Like how the anniversary stream was both about the changes we make to the game and how those changes and our involvement with fandom change us. I mean, just look at all the echo flower messages. Alot of them are about how the game and it’s fandom impacted them and the trajectory of their lives.
If Your OC was left completely unattended in a room with blank walls and a box of crayons for multiple hours, would they draw anything? And if they did, what would they draw
I have many OCs but I presume since you re logged my most recent post with Arsenic and Bjorn, you mean them specifically?
I'm also presuming they have no way of leaving the room because if so I don't think either of them would want to stay in this room.
If they were locked in for a couple of hours, Bjorn would probably start doodling skeletal formulae for chemical compounds. Meanwhile Arsenic would probably attempt to draw a bug of some kind, be frustrated at his lack of drawing skills and then just start breaking the crayons into tiny pieces.
*in the cadence of Dracula from the Hotel Transylvania franchise* haha mutual you are learning about my ocs
how do I summarise this one, it's not nearly as well-polished as Spektra...
(tw for suicide, medical malpractice/abuse and the faintest whiff of eugenics)
so basically it takes place in this city-state called Xerexes, which is very secular and is sort of a near-future sci-fi setting. There is this ethically dubious organisation which gives spurned scientists grants to study whatever they want (in the past I would've called these the "dark scientists" but I would like to change that name). Caliburn is a 'scientist' who specifically is experimenting on a demographic known as the Draconines (cats with draconic features, how they got those is a whole other kettle of fish). She believes that something within their biology holds the key to solving all humanity's (....you know what I mean) ills and ascending to godhood. Of course very ethically and ideologically objectionable stuff.
So when she gains access to Jake, a test subject left over from another 'scientist' (who killed himself over the guilt of what he was doing btw), she starts to make a lot of progress on her theories. Jake is a Draconine and was already known for having extremely quick-healing bones. Caliburn finds a substance in his blood which is responsible for these abilities - so-called Dragonblood - meanwhile her mineralogist friend Fenrir finds a mineral vein which is chemically the same substance. So Caliburn injects a bunch more Dragonblood into Jake, causing Jake's bones to be permanently unstable and have the ability to change shape extremely fast. In Caliburn's eyes she's created a god.
Meanwhile you have Zenith, Jake's older sister, who abandoned her "destiny" at the most prestigious university in Xerexes to find her brother again. She learned how to make cybernetic enhancements from an immortal robot dinosaur (yeah sure I guess we're canonising that), and she replaced her eye with a laser. At some point she joins forces with Bjorn - a former lab tech for the 'dark scientists' and friend of Caliburn and Fenrir, until his half-Draconine nephew Vincent was taken by Caliburn, leaving his sister Helga feeling extremely depressed and suicidal. Vincent lore is up in the air currently- most recently his lore has been 'his central nervous system was removed from his body and placed inside a robot' but there's really no reason for Caliburn to do this. I will think about it. Bad shit happens to him though I can tell you that. Helga and Zenith also used to be childhood friends but the loss of Jake caused Zenith to push away her friends :pensive:
There is also Beetle my beloved little bat-eared fox who gets saved from the facility as a baby by Jake and grows up basically being co-parented by all of science gang Beetle my baby
There's just a bunch of random characters in this story because historically it was used as a dumping ground for like, freebie designs I got. There's various other lab subject characters, obscure family members, etc
Independent Variable lore retcon because nobody asked: Fenrir is now a mineralogist, not a palaeontologist. I was very clearly projecting myself onto him, it would fit a lot better if he was working with Caliburn for mineralogy reasons specifically
Fun Cyan Fact: Bjorn is was actually auto-plagiarised from the 2018 incarnation of Arsenic and I'm not sure why I did that
so now there are just two yellow cats with one eye and three legs hanging out in my brain, one of them is the most heterosexual man to ever exist and one is literally named after the Swedish word for 'bear'
still considering the idea of Element Cats being a media franchise within the Cyanverse because I simply think it is hilarious
