Anish Kapoor: Inflamation

Sometimes I wonder if I'm gonna make it.
Like. Listen. I have so many different and compounding health issues. My immune system is so bizarre. I'm been diagnosed with a super rare genetic inflammatory condition. Without the aid of modern medicine I'd already be out of the game.
And I know the world looks at me like. It can't be that bad sometimes you seem fine. And sometimes I am! But sometimes I really struggle. And I find it difficult to explain to people.
And I just wonder how long my body can keep going like this. Constantly being worn out and at my breaking point. I wish we lived in a world where we could rest. My body certainly needs it but the most I can give it is an hour or two here or there.

Sirtfood Diet
So, apparently I’ve been living under a rock since 2016 (when this diet was founded) but I’ve just seen that the source of Adele’s amazing weight loss is thanks to this diet I’ve never heard of called the 'Sirtfood Diet’.
After a moment of research I learnt that: 'According to the diet’s founders, these special foods work by activating specific proteins in the body called Sirtuins. Sirtuins are believed to protect cells in the body from dying when they are under stress and are thought to regulate inflammation, metabolism and the ageing process. It’s thought that Sirtuins influence the body’s ability to burn fat and boost metabolism, resulting in a seven pound weight loss a week.’ Sounds great. Lose weight, slow ageing AND protect cells from stress?! Erm, yes please!
You’re supposed to have a diet rich in the sirtfoods for a few days on under 1000cals and then up it to 1500 and eat 2 meals on the second week…. However I’ve taken the list of highest containing Sirtuins, Sirtfoods to focus on eating without actually following the diet. Firstly because I’m vegan, secondly because I intermittent fast everyday anyway and lastly I only eat one meal a day and there’s no way I want to UP my calories to above 1000 per day, if it’s more than what I’m already consuming daily now! Anyway, it’s not about me. Here’s my list of high Sirtuins focus foods:
Capers, Celery, Coffee, Cocoa, Olive oil, Matcha Green Tea, Kale, Dates, Parsley, Red Onion, Rocket, Turmeric, Strawberries, Walnuts, Blueberries and Citrus Fruits. P.s // I consume a lot of raw cacao for spiritual purposes quite regularly and as well as it being a stimulant which increases your heart rate (like caffeine) I also thought I noticed that it stunts my hunger and facilitates weight loss when I drink a cup a day mixed with hot water and cayenne pepper. - So hopefully this isn’t just a fad diet with no actual link to weight loss, if this is something I discovered before I discovered this diet and cacao being on the list of high Sirtuin foods! (but please don't consume cacao if you are also on heart medication or have drunk alcohol or caffeine that day!)
Let me know if you fancy joining me on this journey with these Sirtuin foods!
Excited to try out my new cook book!! Hopefully it helps manage my health a little better.
