This Turmeric Papaya Smoothie tastes like the tropics and is good for you because turmeric reduces inflammation. It tastes great, is good for you, and makes a great breakfast or snack.
Ingredients: 1 ripe papaya, peeled, seeded, and chopped. 1 cup coconut water. 1 tablespoon fresh turmeric, grated. 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup. 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper. 1/2 cup plain yogurt optional. Ice cubes optional.
Instructions: Chop up the papaya and put it in a blender with coconut water, grated turmeric, honey or maple syrup, and black pepper. If you want a creamier texture, you can add plain yogurt. Mix until it's creamy and smooth. If you want your smoothie to be colder, add ice cubes. Pour into glasses and serve right away.
