HAVE YOU EMBRACED YOUR "INTROVERT-NESS" YET?
The corporate world and society at large is biased in favor of extroverts and away from introverts..
Being an introvert myself, I can empathize with the struggle of being in a work setup that values gregarious and outgoing behavior more than the relatively quieter, less forthcoming introvert behaviour.
However, as we were discussing in a recent #leadershipdevelopment intervention on #executivepresence , Introverts make fantastic leaders once they recognise their #strengths and build on them.
They are naturally observant and great listeners and inclined towards details. They enjoy one on one conversations that make deep connections.. Their propensity to think before speaking, makes it more likely that they add value, when they do speak.. and best of all, they are less likely to hog the limelight.
So while there is definitely a pressure on introvert leaders to be "out there",
they can thrive if they work WITH their natural style rather than AGAINST it!!
