So from what I read, IPP status is not only about cost security but also freedom from prosecution, I suppose it’s similar to diplomatic status. So if he is really wanting this, does this also extend to his wife automatically or is she a separate case? And can IPP be withdrawn?
IPP can be withdrawn. It’s how we got here in the first place - Harry’s IPP status was officially revoked when he quit the BRF but he keeps some unofficial perks through being Charles’s son.
I don’t really know about Meghan. My assumption is that she inherits it from being married to Harry so if he loses it, she loses it too (which allegedly has been her complaint for the last five years).
Can Meghan qualify for IPP on her own? Absolutely…if she was important enough like Diana was or independently qualified enough like a government minister/political appointee holding an official office.
Does she qualify for IPP on her own? No, not in her current situation as a C-list celebrity influencer.
It’s the same with the kids. As minors, they inherit their status from Harry. So if he has it, it’s extended to them too but they’ll lose it when they come of age after a grace period (like Beatrice and Eugenie did) since that may be the new model going forward - but unfortunately we’ll have to wait and see about that.
Happy New Year, everyone! We did it, we made it another year. This was a tough year for me, as I’m sure it was for a lot of you, but I’m proud to have made it this far and I’m grateful for all the kind support you guys have given me in the past year. Thanks for sticking with me!
As has become tradition, it’s fun to look back and see what I’ve produced on this blog in the past year. I think 2022 will be the year I finally finish all the (currently existing) Pokemon lines, motivation and time allowing. Wish me luck!
Nishikino Maki, Kurosawa Dia, Love Live, Love Live Sunshine, 600 words, 29/?
Maki and Dia have some mother-daughter time.
Elementary
Nishikino Maki kept a brisk pace down the main stairs at the Takarazuka Revue Tokyo Theatre. She had some friends who performed here, but they were in another of the troupes. But she couldn’t resist the urge to sneak up and see the Takarazuka take on Sherlock Holmes. Deductive and musical and entertaining. Her companion, daughter Dia, matched her pace easily, as they stepped into the Tokyo afternoon.
“I wasn’t expecting the music to work so well.” Dia announced.
Maki shrugged, “Takarazuka knows their genre and their audience.” It had been a very enthusiastic audience.
“That’s true. I expected a Sherlock adaptation would use British composers.”
“Takarazuka realizes they do things best when they are exactly themselves.” Never a bad lesson to showcase.
Maki turned to the right, then started laughing at herself. Nico’s favorite patissiere was that way so her steps had been automatic, but Dia had different tastes. Turning again, she surprised Dia.
“Mama?”
“Would you like to stop for green tea?” Maki pulled out her phone, checking train stops, “We could head to the Skytree’s Gion Tsuriji. We don’t really have to be back at any time. Mama’s not expecting us for dinner.”
Nico avoided caffeine; bad for the skin; Maki had too great a reliance on coffee, but Dia’s palette leaned native. Dia’s eyes sparkled at the name of the famous Kyoto shop, but she kept her voice even.
“An excellent choice, Mama. We can restock our Numazu pantry.”
Maki nodded. “I wonder what their specials are today?”
Dia instantly responded with a list of her favorites, following Maki as she headed to the station, “Will they have those filled cookies or the delicate ones or should we just get the ice cream bowls? We don’t come to Tokyo often and it’s not the season, and the bowls are delicious, but the parfaits are a nice balance, with the pastry chunks all the way through.” Dia squeaked, racing off into more suggestions.
“And we can buy some candies for Grandmama. She’ll put them out in that fancy hammered gold bowl Mom brought back from Venice and show off. Ooh, and for Mom, they just started a line of matcha cosmetics, we should get her some of each.”
“I’ll be sure to include them in her “presents from Tokyo bag.”” Nico-chan’s presents from Tokyo bags were always fun to put together with whichever of her daughters Maki was shopping with.
“Don’t forget to put them in Ruby’s too.” Stern Dia.
“Of course.”
“Look at that little boutique, Mama. Can we pop in there?” Dia pointed ahead of them, “I think that’s where they have those Converse crossovers You was telling Ruby about. And then, we’ll take a snap at the Godzilla statue. Mom will giggle; Mari will scream.”
And just like that, Dia had planned the rest of their afternoon. Nico would scold Maki for spoiling Dia, but Maki refused to be anything but healed by seeing the people she loved enjoy themselves. And Dia relaxing like this was a rare treat. She was taking the potential closing of her school far too seriously.
“Did I ever tell you one of our Muse costumes had Nico-chan dress up as Sherlock Holmes. She called herself Nicolock, puffed a pipe for three days, and she kept hiding Rin and Honoka’s things to find.”
Dia raised an eyebrow. “Mom as Sherlock? Really?”
“You underestimate Nico-chan.” As Maki had at the time, “She read up on the deductive method, made Cocoro and Cocoa try to trick her, and actually was pretty impressive. Plus, the costume was adorable.”
“I want to see.”
“I’m sure there’s pictures somewhere.”
“Get Mom to look.”
That would just trigger the return of Nicolock Holmes. And possibly the reveal of her assistant. “Sure.”
“Wait…who was her Watson? Aunt Eli? Aunt Umi?” Dia pulled Maki to a stop.
Maki shook her head and slowly raised her hand.
Dia giggled.
“We have to find the pictures, Mama.”
“Later.” Maki was certain Nico would. “Let’s go look for those sneakers.”
“Okay.”
A/N: It's Promptober time in Idol Fanfic Heaven and today's word was heal. I'd been wanting to do a Maki and Dia scene so here you go.
