Iris having disdain for arranged marriages because she saw how miserable it made her parents (and by extension everyone else - although at least they were rich enough the kids could afford to be distracted by pretty things and horses)

Her mother was actually a commoner who’d come to the Grand Tourney in the Free Marches to support her love and the man she wanted to marry

Her father saw her giving him his favour before the joust and immediately wanted her

Basically offered her parents, modest workers, a bride price they couldnt refuse

And boy did her mother not enjoy that..

Iris thinking she wouldnt fall into that same trap

Actually being a bit relieved in the circle once she realized no one was going to force her to marry anyone for a political alliance

iris and i had an adventure (went to a children’s theme park with a bunch of other service dogs in training) today here are some pictures

#she did so well too!#like better than i thought she’d do #bc there were lots of other dogs and kids and new noises and new things to see #but she fucking nailed it!#even around some farm animals she could focus on on me (with lots of treats but still)#very proud of my pup #irisposting #oh and the dog behind her in the photo with the panda boat thing is her friend innova #i also was able to get some good advice from a professional trainer based on what she observed with me working with iris #which was really helpful bc training a dog is hard #and i got some updates on justice (sdit i worked with before iris) and she’s apparently doing really well #and building confidence so just very proud of both my pups today <3
