The moment he gets braces, Isagi is so bummed. He showed you, eyebrows furrowed in worry and a nervous smile on his lips, he really didn't like it already...when, little did he know, it was the cutest thing you've ever witnessed.
His lips had gotten fuller, his cheeks chunkier in a way...you couldn't really explain it. You could've sworn his smile got wider too, brackets and deep blue elastics peeking out. He might've also developed a slight lisp, which did make him insecure but you just found it so adorable how he'd even mostly struggle when speaking japanese to his parents or on the phone...
Every time he was deep in thought, he would run his tongue over the brackets, causing him to cut his tongue, or his lips too, which he didn't even realize until you point it out to him.
What was not really very cute was the way you couldn't have a single serious conversation with him. It would be either cuz he'd make those goofy ass faces trying not to get his lips caught on the braces or cuz he'd constantly try and fail to not spit on you mid lecture about why he's better than anyone.
Don't get me started on the whining...oh god, this guy would be weeping from pain 25/8, all day even night when it would wake him up from his beauty sleep. He'd be poking at your cheek at 4:06am talking about some "Babeeeee... please, it's so painful...do something.." while having genuine tears in his eyes and his bottom lip pushed out. You do get up almost always to get ice cubes for him to put over them, or some painkillers that the doctor said would do the job...and once you did and the pain subsided he'd be all smiles and giggles while showing off his pearly whites with a slight blush on his cheeks while thanking you for helping...
Kissing and making out was impossible and he usually physically pushed you away so you two won't have to go through the whole thing...The whole thing in question being that every time you'd kiss, his lips would be sore as hell and the inside of his mouth would most likely get caught on those things...well it's logical that if you attempted making out you'd end up with your tongue stuck to his brackets like you licked an ice cube and got stuck or just get cut as well as him... just painful stuff that you tried to dodge but never succeeded too. Also going down on you was a no no and he said that from the first day, he was not risking that shit..(all that before he discovered orthodontic wax so y'all were good after)
You'd regularly sit there and watch him trying to clean his teeth and braces, just to watch him get red from irritation and crash out...but uh you're rooting for him...!
He got really jealous watching you eat foods he couldn't and tried to get you to stop buying and eating them in front of him. You did in fact not listen. He just had to sit there and suffer...well he'd eat one or two secretly even though his doctor found out almost instantly cuz he wasn't very careful most of the time..
But oh gosh he was such a cutie...lord you just wanted to eat him alive and just squish his cheeks every time he smiled or lisped. Which he did not really like especially since he was self conscious of how he looked with them...but u did make him feel better. That was until his teammates and friends made fun of him and he came home to you with the most pouty and sulking expression ever...
A/n: Sorry if I got something wrong I've never experienced braces, this is all I've heard from friends 😭😞 but anyways isagi with braces lives rent free in my mind please sb send me or make fanart of him like that..
