Isatis sp. blooming in a distance on eastern Anatolian Plateau. I can't tell which species it is, unfortunately. But I learnt species in this genus used to be the source of indigo dye in Europe.

What do the flames parents look like? Has there ben any art?

I believe @antarestyl and I have already answered this before…They look like any other flame elementals. With the exception of Fellby’s father which I’ll explain below~

Swabby’s parents are both still alive in the current timeline.His father, Isatis, is deep blue and his mother, Hyacinth, is purple in color. They both love their son dearly but made many mistakes in the past to try and change Swabby’s natural hue causing the young flame much pain…They are currently not on speaking terms.

Grillby’s father (Aiden) was a green flame whereas his mother (Ember) was orange like Grillby himself though was around Swabby’s height.Aiden was not very fatherly and often left Grillby to his own… However when his wife began getting sick, he was unable to cope and ended up placing blame on Grillby.Ember was a cheerful flame and quick to hide behind her sister and/or husband if things got heated… She was often sick and bedridden.

Fellby actually had three parents though he grew up only knowing of his father Garrett and his mother Aeris. His other father (Smalt) died before his soul fully formed.Fellby actually took his looks and color from his father Smalt although his father was much more regal and soft spoken.Aeris was a bright green flame who was just a bit smaller than Swabby. She was Ember’s younger and self confident sister though, like her son, had a tendency to oversleep.Garrett, on the other hand, was a dark red flame who others were often afraid of due to his overbearing height and stoic nature. Unlike other fire elementals, he had dark black patches over his chest, arms and legs which were often covered by his clothing.

When you try to imagine Garrett, think of Te Kāfrom Moana… or here I’ll add some photos below :D Though, unlike these images, Garrett’s face was deep red in color as mentioned above.

Grillby goes to the family reunions of Swabby's family but how does he fit in? Like you said Grillby and Fellby's moms were twins... so are Grillby and Swabby just distant kin?

Well yes and no. All flames are related one way or another, often on many levels even. Think about it, you have a population of monster that rarely chooses partners outside their subclass (elementals), lives a long life, has maybe one offspring once in 100-500 years and most of the time more than 2 people are involved in bringing a new soul to life.

Now for Swabby. All flames are related to each other. On top of that, swabbys father Isatis and the dad Fellby never got to know (Smalt) were brothers. That’s the closest link they have. Buuuuut the three of them don’t know about that… so Grillby mostly went because they are all family.

Update!

A quick lil update on everything that’s currently in progress (because sometimes you just need a categorised list): On tumblr Feeling Alive (Bucky x Reader, dancing, dating and angsting): 11 chapters posted (including introduction), 12 fully written, 1 still in progress. Plans for 15 in total with a reader-elected epilogue at the end! Finish date: by the first of August. Future plans? Have another idea (or several) kicking around for Bucky x reader fics and I’ll run the main one past the readers before Feeling Alive wraps up. On AO3 Be my time-bomb lover (Wolfstar, uni!AU, shitty mental health and healing/growing together): 19 chapters posted, plans for ??? Chapter 20 is currently in progress (about 1000 words in, already cried once). Definitely requires at least a few more weeks to finish because it’s so heavy. Finish date: never?!?! Nah if this is finished by the end of the year I will be astonished but that’s the vague goal. Future plans? Already have one epilogue written and there are plans for two more. A Wish That’s Made With Idle Mind (Newtina, continuing canon with added Fair Folk and Scottish countryside): 3 chapters posted, 1 grumbling along, plans for ??? This fic is seriously hard for me to write but I am determined to persevere because it’s probably good to be challenged. That being said, this is the fic that’s easiest to shelve- which is why updates have been sporadic, even for me. Finish date: lol. Future plans? Idek if I’ll finish before the next film comes out and totally overrides my ideas so… Isaac Scamander and the Impossible Suitcase (Nextgen idiots get up to Hogwarts hijinks): MY BABY. 1 chapter posted, plans for ??? I love this fic but it’s been on hiatus for so long and there was so little interest in it that I’ve just let it sit for several months. But I will be going back. I love that fic. Finish date: hm. Future plans? Finish literally just finish writing it. Just Another Dream (Marauders and La La Land I COULDN’T RESIST): 1 chapter posted, another half written. I will go back to this one. I love the tone and the mood, I’m just lacking a little in direction (although I might truncate it to a shorter fic. Just thought of that). Another one that’s on the back burner. Finish date: um. Future plans? Finish the gd fic. To The End Of Their Days (Bagginshield time travel fix it, Bilbo has amnesia, Dwarves are sneaky): 5 chapters posted, one in progress, plans for 500 probably. This one ground to a halt because the current chapter will not flow and I haven’t yet been able to bring myself to delete everything and start over. But one day I will. And we’ll be back rolling. I love this stupid ship way too much to abandon it. Finish date: UM. Future plans? Finish finish finish.

Yes, it’s going. Very slowly, but it’s going. One hundred words a day might be an achievable goal for that one.

If Swabby was sitting with his parents, (as unlikely as that is) and they told him they had found him a perfect partner who would take care of him despite his color (that sounds so wrong) and tge Fellby comes in picks up Swabby and says they're going home he's craving sweets and carries Swabby away but then looks at the parents and declares swabby is his before carrying him home. Reaction?

VERY MUCH Disbelief XD Swabby’s parents HATE Fellby.

Fellby is known as a criminal in the Underground (mostly). At least most of the older flames know about him. He has LV, he is Not Polite Company (tm) and they pretty much ostracize him. And Swabby’s parents are somewhat of a high standing (Swabby’s dad used to be on the council in his hometown, something of a high-position political power, his mother is in line of the title of the queen, even if it’s WAY down the line and both of them did a LOT for Hotland and were leading figures of the Sanctuary that was at Mount Ebott during the war before the monster were sealed behind the barrier. They are a bit snobbish.) so most flames and later most other Hotland-people would follow their lead.

Swabby and his parents have a VERY complicated relationship because of that. They totally were trying to find a “good match” for Swabby, somebody who wouldn’t “mind his color” or tried to artificially raise Swabby’s heat. They did what they did because they love Swabby but yeah... not helpful for Swabby. At all.

Anyway, they would maybe pull the “arranged partner” stunt but they would never approve of Fellby. XD (There are some more and personal reasons for that but yeah, Swabby doesn’t know them yet himself) They don’t even know Swabby befriended Fellby and spends time with him in the moment.

So Swabby would assume if something like that happened, that it was a really really weird dream (and WTF why is he dreaming of THIS this is so embarrassing!!!!!) He would kinda enjoy the dream (he can be REALLY spiteful and he would use even a dream-scenario to stick it to his parents. Also Fellby is nice.) but yeah, it would be 90% weird and 10% neat for him. XD
