INTJ: What about relationships? Do you find them simple?

ISTJ (immediately): Oh, yeah.

Confused INTJ is confused.

INTJ: Sometimes I wonder if all relationships are to some extent inherently toxic.

ISTJ: Hm, nope. I think I’m happy with all my relationships.

INTJ: Huh. Okay, strike that. You know how all relationships require effort?

ISTJ: What? Not at all. If it feels like a sacrifice I wouldn’t consider that person my friend and wouldn’t even bother.

INTJ: You mean you never have to make an effort?

ISTJ: Exactly.

INTJ: Well I think all my relationships require my effort.

ISTJ: Is our friendship difficult to you? 

INTJ::... actually, no. Not at all.

ISTJ: See? :)

when ixtjs actually talk #5 - the conclusion

INTJ has been thinking about the previous conversation. out of nowhere:

INTJ: You made me consider that all the toxicity that I keep seeing in relationships is in the people but in my mind.

ISTJ bursts into laughter.

INTJ (oblivious, still serious): So yeah, thank you.

ISTJ: Why would you thank me for that?

INTJ: People’s behaviour is beyond my control. but i can change my perception and my own behaviour.

ixtjs being ixtjs

INTJ and ISTJ are deciding on short-term study plans.

ISTJ: So, I’m going to the gym, I can meet you afterwards to go back to the library? 

INTJ: That would be the reasonable thing to do. I need some workout, too, I might go to a class. How long do you need?

ISTJ: An hour and a half top. 

INTJ: Well I can be back at 8, is that too late?

ISTJ: 8pm is so late I might be dead by then. 

INTJ went back to the library at 8:00 pm and this overachiever idiot was still there. 

INTJ: Should I even be surprised? 

After more studying, they find themselves making plans for the next day (ESTJ’s and ESTP’s absence is quite visible in the lack of social plans and spontaneity, respectively). 

INTJ: See you tomorrow then. 

ISTJ: Yes, I will be here at 9. Actually, it’s my birthday tomorrow so I might arrive at 10. 

INTJ: ...Please tell me that is not your only birthday treat. This is so depressing. 

ISTJ: Why not? It’s a good one. 

INTJ: “It’s my birthday tomorrow, and my celebration consists of one extra hour of sleep?”

ISTJ: Sleeping is awesome. Sleeping makes me happy.

INTJ: You’re so... deeply simple. 

ISTJ (after laughing a lot): Should I take it as a compliment? 

INTJ: I can change it to ‘simple yet accidentally deep’.

ISTJ (ignoring INTJ, with a big smile on his face): I am gonna take it as a compliment. Thank you!

INTJ: Sure, whatever. You’re very welcome.

After hearing more of such statements from ISTJ. 

INTJ (shocked): I think you’re one of the healthiest persons I know.

ISTJ (tranquil smile): why that face though?

INTJ: I said healthy. you can take it as a compliment.

ISTJ: I did. Healthy is good.

What unhealthy function/type (if there’s one specific one) would try to deal with jealousy by denying it exists and acting friendly and bubbly with everyone, probably in an attempt to get external validation, but also totally cold-shouldering the people that they blame for the feeling?

Without further information, I’d say the person that inspired you to make that question could be any type going through a very petty moment. I will try to hypothesise but keep in mind that this is just me divagating. 

High TeIn an attempt to organise the outer world in a more pleasant way, high Te would probably act in a certain manner that would make them feel like they are in control of the environment, obviating the obnoxious elements (here, the source of jealousy) and highlighting the actions that would protect their pride (”I am happy, I don’t need whatever I want and cannot have”).These leads us to xNTJ and xSTJ. Although I think if this is the first time that you see that person behave like this, high Si would be less probable than high Ni. Hence INTJ and ENTJ more likely than ISTJ and ESTJ. Vice-versa if this behaviour seems more like a pattern to you. 

High FeHigh Fe users are prone to be manipulative with feelings when they are at their worst, especially more immature or unhealthy individuals. I have seen my ESFJ friend do this countless times. Again,  if this is a chronic pattern of behaviour I would point more towards xSFJ, whereas if it’s more of a newish thing it might be xNFJ trying to cope in an immature way. 

Again, all types can do these sort of things and the fact that one specific person behaves like this is not generalisable. I hope this helps, anyway.
