They were back. Nexus released a few Rebellion members just like that as if to say, “You want them so bad? Here.” It was a bone that was already chewed through. They came back to him, shaking. Nobody said anything at first. When Ricky’s eyes grew, any optimism Peter held onto sank into his gut. Peter’s mind to the brink of every bad situation he could consider. 

He hesitantly approached each of them and turned over their arm. Each person had the same 6 needle mark that forms a hexagon. None of them had their powers anymore. Sophia confirmed there wasn’t even a trace left in any of them. Nexus administered their cure on his members. 

The lab wanted to run some tests to ensure side effects were reported. Peter knew they were still concocting test vaccinations to counteract the “cure.” Their strides were not fast enough to keep up with Nexus and the weight of it bore down on Peter’s shoulders. The room cleared except for one person left with him. 

“If you have something to say, just go ahead.” He turned away and sighed heavily.
