i think it is unrealistic for fans to expect sequels to be published a year after the first one and also want the book at its highest quality. it's okay to expect a few years in between and i think it weird how much pressure authors face to publish their next book immediately. that's a lot of stress on authors and i think it often leads to books being put out before they are ready.
OATHBOUND. just. OATHBOUND. I finally got to finish this beast of a book that had me rolling and giggling and screaming and crying, thank you tracy for the emotional rollercoaster. It's the culmination of Bree's choices coming to a head and facing them head on, even when she feels like its impossible. But she never EVER forgets what she fights for, and thats why she is forever a fav protag 🫶
i needed to get art out to deal w that endinf HAHDHS NOT READY FOR THE LAST BOOK UHHDNDJS but also i need it now 🤭 (that dragon symbolism I NEED TO KNOW MOREEE)
If someone asks for book recs for something similar to Sinners…do not recommend them Interview With The Vampire. Cuz what is wrong with you? Not only was Anne Rice racist but Louis is a slave owner and Lestat can care less about the slaves in the book. They literally feed off of them. Like y’all don’t think, and that’s a problem.
Ring Shout by P. Djèlí Clark
Beloved by Tony Morrison
Kindred and Fledgling by Octavia E. Butler
Lovecraft Country (show)
All These Sunken Souls: A Black Horror Anthology edited by Circe Moskowitz
Out There Screaming: An Anthology of New Black Horror edited by Jordan Peele
These are the types of books you recommend people who want something similar to Sinners. They are asking for books that are about and by Black people with supernatural and horror elements. Heck even LegendBorn by Tracy Deon could be considered horror with the amount of stuff that goes down in that book. I need y’all to get a grip and get it fast.
Now THIS is what I call fanart, if I say so myself. 😌 Redraws and all that aside... yeah idk guys I really really love this one hshshdhd
I still don't have my Legendborn copy within easy reach, so I had to scramble through my Storygraph notes to find a fitting quote, even though I think I almost know the sentence that inspired this one to begin with by heart. The first display of BreeSel working as a TEAM to save the boy they both love and adore. We love to see it 😗🫶 "Together, we sent the uchel's head in one direction, and the body in the other."
(I also know that in canon I think Sel is the one who jumps for the head, but Bree is Bree and so she stays on Top 😌😌)
The Collector's edition comes out like??? Tomorrow ??? And I have a mysterious package coming my way on April 1st. Cross your fingies for me that it actually is the book and not some random package I forgot I ordered bcs I have hyped up this mystery box beyond measure thinking it's the book lmao
But ye! Hope you've had a great start to your week <<33 and happy early re-release day of Legendborn uwuuuu 💕💕🫶🫶🫶
