(The New Teen Titans v.2 #3)
Despite all of our differences, though, we have one very important thing in common.
We were all trained by the best.
(The All-New Batman: The Brave And The Bold #13)
So I originally tracked down Batman Annual #13 for a short Alfred-centric tale at the end of the issue, and I only recently went back to read the main story and was surprised to realize the Robin depicted in the prologue was actually Jason, and not Dick like I'd assumed. Not only is it a Jason appearance (sporting yellow long johns at that), but there's also a Two-Face meeting, and a team-up with Barbara as Batgirl, though we sadly don't see them really interact.
Moreover, although Bruce initially chides Jason about the snowballs, he ends up "borrowing a page from Jason's book" and uses one (admittedly laced with mace) to defeat Two-Face, which is kind of cute.
This issue came out in 1989, after Jason's death but still the same year it occurred, and it was a nice little surprise to discover.
"He replaced me?"
(Nightwing: Year One)
He's so delightfully bitter.
(Nightwing: Year One)
"...I know he's not you."
"No he's not. Maybe he'll be better than me."
(Batman & Robin vol. 1 #23)
"The dynamic duo. You guys were the real thing. You love it."
