Here's the full version of the Titans artwork I've been working on! This is, as far as I'm aware, every single character to join the team Pre-Flashpoint. From people who were there for a couple panels, to those who were mainstays for hundreds of issues. It's the biggest art project I've ever done, and I'm happy with how it turned out!

The dichotomy of Grant's heart giving out being the catalyst to the rise of Deathstroke's terror on the Titans and Joey and Rose's inevitable introduction into the team vs Dick being shot near the heart being the catalyst to the rise of Nightwing during the Judas Contract storyline (which only ever happens because of Grant's death)

and

The parallel between Joey getting his throat slit by the Jackal because Slade refused to back down from his code of ethics vs Jason getting his throat slit by Bruce in front of the Joker because Batman refused to back down from his code of ethics

and

Rose and Cassandra both never getting the proper chance at a true father-daughter relationship with either Slade or Bruce because the death of the brothers who had come before them have already weighed heavy on their father's souls.

Sons with heavy hearts, Sons with slit throats, Daughters with eyes who can see it all and the fathers who continually fail them despite how badly they desire for happy children.

The fact that Joey looks identical to younger Slade in Rebirth always kills me. Joey is usually considered the black sheep of the family while looking one to one to his father.

Do you think Joey felt guilty for joining the titans? At least a little bit? Because he did want to make Addie proud. He did want to take down Slade.

But once the dust settled down you think he had to reconcile the fact that while they didn’t directly kill Grant, they were involved in his death? It wouldn’t have happened without them. His older brother. The one that used to bandage his knees when he fell, the one that taught him how to ride a bike. Who despite everything he still loved so much.

Do you think it got a little worse when he realized how he felt about Dick?
