I think Jody and Donna are mega repressed about their sexuality and feelings for each other. Like they might be on the same level as destiel in terms of what a disaster their relationships are, which is impressive, because destiel at least has an excuse of being an interspecies romance.

It makes me think that maybe Claire was so eager to run away on the hunts, not only because she was addicted to danger, but also because she couldn't watch Jody and Donna act like they've been married for years while being sure they're 100% straight.
