“Ayo, Wyd?” - 10:07 am EST - Friday, August 20
I’m starting to notice a pattern with the past few albums I’ve listened to. MINMI was a feature of a Nujabes track (this one to be specific https://youtu.be/UQbcyOxqDFw) and I fell in love with her voice since that song. Now I first heard that song maybe 7 years ago and I’m finally listening to one of her albums. Truly blessed.
MINMI’s “Miracle” was released in 2003 so I was curious how she directs her voice by herself instead of just providing. And this being like a year before she hopped on the Nujabes track that made me even more curious. Well?
I was very surprised to see that it felt like a classic 2000’s pop album from the states. I don’t know what the pop scene was in 2000’s Japan but, this fucking banged. The tracks hit you immediately with her sass and confidence. Not o nay her voice, the instrumentals boom behind her like she asserting dominance. I wish I knew what the fuck she was saying. Regardless, I could tell she was saying, I was happy to finally be listening to the vocalist to one of my favorite songs.
TLDR: ion know what she sayin but boy it sounds good
(Side note: I don’t like the idea of number ratings so I’ll just show how many of the tracks from the album I added to my personal Spotify playlist, just for reference.)
