ToneHenge™ 2017! . Here was part of my #amp collection, affectionately known as #ToneHenge™, as it was 4 years ago. . The guitar is my 1961 #LesPaul Junior. . I still all the amps in this shot except the 2012 50th anniversary #Marshall #JTM1 which I really should have held onto...it was a cool little amp. If it had been hardwired it would have been perfect! . The little head is a Mack amps "Gem" 4 watt with 1x10 cab. The Fenders are a 1965 #VibroChamp and #Vibrolux Reverb. . For #WalnutWednESday here’s a shot of the way things used to be around Casa #DeeBeeUs™ back at the end of 2016, including the first #Gretsch #guitar I ever bought, a 1972 #CountryGentleman. People disparage 70s Gretsches but this one sounded superb. It just had a slight tendency to neck dive which I just could not learn to live with, so I sold it. #ToneHenge™ 2016 consisted of the 1965 #Fender #Vibrolux Reverb (on an @atlasstands ampstand), with a 1957 5F1 #Champ on top (now in the collection of @the_damo_experience), plus a 1963 Fender #DeluxeReverb (behind the #CountryGent) and a 2012 #Marshall 50th Anniversary #JTM1 C 1 watt amp - both of these were sold to fund new acquisitions 😕. Thats the cute little Mack Amps “Gem” 4/0.4 watt on top of the Marshall. Still have that one. PS: the pedalboard is also by @atlasstands. Made from antique North Carolina tobacco sticks, which were used up until the 1970s to hang tobacco leaves from barn rafters to dry! More fun at @capsulemusic #Toronto with a pair of Limited Edition 2012 #Marshall #50thAnniversary 1 watt #amps. On the bottom is the #JTM1 “H” (for “head”. There was also a combo version - I even owned one for a while - it was very cool) which is a tribute to the 60s era #MarshallAmps. On top is a #JMP1 H, a tribute to the 70s era. They also did 80s, 90s, and 2000s tribute models in this series. These are so groovy and collectable. It wouldn't be a proper #WednESday if I did stick at least a couple of #Gibson ESes in yer face! 😁 Here's my 1966 #ES330 TDC ("T"hinline "D"ouble pickup "C"herry). At 6.5 lbs it is a lot easier to hang around your neck for long periods of time than the 9.5lb #ES355 from a couple of posts ago! Back to basics: 1971 #Gibson #ES335 TDW and 2012 #Marshall #JTM1. No #stereo #amps, no #effects #pedals...not even #reverb. Just a #vintage #guitar direct into a cranked up, low-powered, #tube #amplifier. The story so far: I am doing a total reorganization of my guitar performance and appreciation #studio (aka "my kitchen"), and have moved 20 or so #guitars and 5 or more #amps into another room so I can work with a blank canvas. But I still want to play...so I have moved my little Marshall back in and plugged the ES335 directly into it. I have it set to the 0.1 watt setting and the volume is up at 6 or 7 so the amp is developing that rich creamy #overdrive we all love, but at a low volume. It's such a pleasure to play this way. All this machinery making modern music can still be open hearted. Not so foolish-hearted it's really just a question of your honesty.
