Snow Dance

Synopsis: It's the most wonderful time of the year and what could make it better than dancing in the snow?

Pairing: Junhui x fem!reader Genre: fluff Warnings: none <3 Word Count: 700+ words

The snow had already started falling as _____ and Junhui got to the Christmas tree sale. Due to a spontaneous trip to the mall (because Junhui wanted to buy another cat sweater), a quick drive-through to buy some finger food, and a few stops by the bridge to take pictures, the pair arrived just before the sale closed.

"You should be thankful that Ms. Geon is my aunt, Junhui. We wouldn't have a Christmas tree this year if she weren't." _____ grumbled as Ms. Geon's son, Inseong, led them into the forest of trees. Yellowish lights hung above them and on some of the greenery, glowing brighter as the sun set behind them.

Though she shivered with cold, _____ felt happy. It was the season to be jolly so better make the most of it.

"These are the trees that are on sale," Inseong said, waving at a group of trees encircled by a fence. He handed them a marker and a tag with a ribbon. "Write your name and address on that then tie it to the tree. You'll fill up a form in the office then we'll be the ones to cut it down and deliver it to you guys."

With that, the boy left _____ and Junhui to fend for themselves against the towering plants. Junhui jumped over the fence before holding out a hand to help _____.

After snooping around the small expanse of forest, they managed to find a sizable tree. _____ used Junhui's back as a table to write on the tag before hanging it on the tree. She could already imagine how it would look like in their apartment, standing tall in front of the fireplace with lights and different colored Christmas balls perched on its branches. A tap on the girl's shoulder brought her back to reality.

"Can I have this dance, milady?" the girl turned around and saw her boyfriend cheekily bowing down with a hand outstretched towards her. _____ looked around warily, afraid that someone would see them. When she was satisfied with their privacy, she took Junhui's hand and let him lead her into the silliest ballroom dance routine she had ever done.

Perhaps it was better that they were alone because neither of them would have enjoyed it to the fullest if they knew that someone was watching. This was one of those moments you have when one is with a person that they truly love. Where the simplest and most innocent things like dancing under the falling snow surrounded by Christmas trees and fairy lights are engraved in their hearts forever.

"What are we even doing Junhui?" _____ asked. She failed to stop her laughter as she and her boyfriend left a line of footsteps on the snow, creating patterns as the lines crossed.

_____ laughed at the spontaneity of their dance, at the ridiculous dance moves Junhui made her do, and at the giddy face he was making. This was definitely one of the things she loved the most about him, the fact that he could turn things into a fairytale with just the snap of a finger. It was like magic.

It must have been at least two hours later when they came back to the main office and filled up the form, their cheeks were still red from the cold. Junhui was sitting beside Inseong as the younger boy showed him a new mobile game that the kids nowadays were crazy about. _____ tapped her fingers on the front desk as she waited for Ms. Geon to come back with their receipt. The soft click-clacking of heeled shoes made her look up to see the old woman coming back with their receipt and a small white envelope. She handed both items to the girl who gave her a confused look. Ms. Geon just smiled warmly. "Consider it an early Christmas gift from me."

After bidding her and Inseong goodbye, the pair headed back to their car. Her curiosity getting the better of her, _____ opened the small white envelope. Several polaroid pictures of her and Junhui smiling at each other with their hands intertwined as they danced under the fairy lights fell out of it. The girl's eyes widened, a smile forming on her face the more she stared at the picture.

Her boyfriend looked over at her from the driver's seat to see why _____ had suddenly gone quiet. Junhui's eyes landed on the pictures in her hand. He pressed a small kiss on her temple before starting the car.

"I have to say, we look pretty cute, babe."
