why are these flagged as gifs by my xkit gif-stopper? _headtilt_

It did that on my page too -- I think if any one of the images is a .gif, like the last one in my post, they all get flagged as one.

Well, from my pov, “Tomorrow” in that post was Saturday :D But I don’t have to work today so yay!

ahah i think nonspecifically allergenic was me! i miss egg rolls so much. i highly recommend not developing allergies as an adult, it's so much harder when you know what you are missing.

Oh preach it. I don’t miss peanuts per se, but I sure do miss Butterfinger. But good to know, that way I can tag you in photos!

I was around SGA fandom quite a bit and we had some WEIRD AUs for sure but i do NOT remember a girl scout cookie one and now I kind of want to go see if I can find it. probably it's lost on eljay somewhere, though.

iirc it's because they were filming in a place where they weren't allowed to relocate the native birds which kept wandering all over the set so they cgi'd them into porgs but I am not sure that holds water in the "make them way more important and in multiple scenes" as opposed to the crystal foxes

I mean, not just merch! I do think about merch a lot because I think it shows where Lucasfilm’s priorities are.  But while I can understand putting them in the Ahch-To scenes, I’m less tolerant of the decision to make them a major-minor part of the film and continue having them there once Rey and Chewie left Ahch-To. And then they do keep recurring in other parts of Star Wars media, like the comics and at Galaxy’s Edge, a decision I’m slightly bewildered by.

the number of times "just get a planner" has been suggested to me

People who suggest that don’t really understand what goes into actually USING such a thing. I only really started using one consistently after I found a system that actually makes sense for me and figured out a way to use it that works for me. It’s not necessarily the way other people do it, and it’s my own system (I made a planner of it and put it up on Lulu because that way if I want a bound one I can just order it, plus it might help other people).

Your "reply to comments" posts haven't had quotes for the part you're replying to for several days at least for me.

Yeah apparently they’re not working on the mobile app for some people? I’ve only just found out. I know for a while the app was just changing the font, and I think especially when replying to multiple comments in a single post the formatting gets dropped. I’m considering italicising comments but I find italics quite hard to read so not ideal.

It’s fairly normal for xkit not to work for a little while after a huge code push, especially when tumblr wasn’t warning about them or beta-testing them beforehand. The xkit guys usually get it back up and running pretty quickly. I am just still baffled as to why Tumblr doesn’t just...pay them to incorporate xkit into the code. 

The fact that tumblr is beta-testing the new UI is promising. They’ve never done that before. It’s a real low bar to clear, but I’m hoping it demonstrates that there’s a culture shift taking place.

i clicked into the full page and my god, why don't they just let us sort by the type of activity like ANY OTHER APP? why isn't there just a "hide likes" option???

Yeah, it’s ugly. There is an option on the non-beta to only show retags/reblogs/comments, but I think it’s an xkit add-on, not native to Tumblr. I rely pretty heavily on the full activity page, because I often get comments/reblogs on older posts, but I recognize my situation is a little unique.

She barely fits on her shelf anymore! Auntie A, their favorite auntie, says Polk definitely seems like the “big sister” these days and I agree. But yeah they have both had some very recent growth.

1. Coffee mugs, teacups, wine glasses, water bottles, or soda cans?

I really like the portability of water bottles, I never leave the house without one. But I’m gonna have to go with coffee mugs. Not that I ever get to use them, I can’t drink coffee and I rarely have hot chocolate, but they can have some really awesome designs! You don’t really see that on teacups. I don’t care for wine or their weird glasses, and soda cans make my lips hurt. =P

3. Bubblegum or cotton candy?

Cotton candy!!! I’ve been craving cotton candy lately! It’s unfortunate that you can’t really buy it in stores, but since it’s basically just poofy sugar, I guess it’s also a good thing.. ^^;

25. First song you remember hearing?

I honestly have no idea... I do remember the first song I sang along to, though! That was Passie by Clouseau back in 1995. It’s a lovely but sad song about a relationship ending, but not in this ‘she left me and now my life is over’ kind of way, but more lamenting how the relationship had run its course and just came to a natural end, like many relationships do. It’s something I still really appreciate about that song.

My aunt got me that song as a single, which I still treasure to this day, and my other aunt was super bummed the first aunt beat her to it, because she wanted to buy me the single too. xP

1, Teacup

My parents had this old set of Chinese teacups that I absolutely adore. Growing up, I would go through ‘tea phases’ where I’d suddenly drink nothing but tea for three days straight until my caffeine addiction drove me back to drinking coke. I’d grab a tray with all the tea stuff, take it with me to my room, and enjoy nipping away at my tea from my tiny teacup. A couple years ago my mom gave me that tea set and I still love it. It has some larger cups too, but they seem too big to drink tea from and I still don’t know what they’re for. I should probably just google it.

2. Cosmos

My parents took me and my brother to the National Space Travel Museum once. I don’t remember a whole lot about it, except that it was a lot of fun! I’m generally not much of a museum person, but that one had information about space and space travel, which was awesome and interesting. They also had some kind of gyroscope thingy with a seat in the middle. I went on it and some guy spun it around a bunch and it was a blast! I got a packet of postcards with pictures of space on them that I treasures dearly. I still have those cards somewhere. ^^

3. Bell

When I was still living with my parents, my room was way up on the attic floor. I usually had loud music or the tv on, so I would rarely actually hear my mom when she’d call from downstairs to say dinner’s ready or to help with groceries, or when my dad made us tea on the weekends, stuff like that. It was an issue. At some point, my parents got a giant bell and hung it in the staircase downstairs, so when they’d need me, they’d just give that bell a smack and I would absolutely hear it loud and clear and go downstairs. My brother, whose room was right at the top of the first stairs, didn’t love the bell as much, though. A few years ago, my dad transformed my old bedroom into his computer room, and every Sunday when I have dinner with my parents, I get to ring that bell to call him down, even though he doesn’t play loud music and can hear me just fine. Gotta ring that giant bell!
