Marvel Zombies Thoughts

This is one of my favorite Marvel movies (I know this is a show, but it's literally a movie split into four episodes). The best part about this movie is how they finally gave us the team-ups and interactions we want to see from the Multiverse Saga characters. Kamala Khan is the stand-out in this show, and it makes me wish we got to see more of her character in the Multiverse Saga.

The font for the title and end credits reminds me of Infinity War's end credits, which sets the tone of this movie pretty well.

Kamala, Riri, and Kate finally teaming up together is a sight to behold, given how we still haven't gotten the Young Avengers team-up yet in live-action.

Ikaris is the absolute goat for being the reason why Captain Marvel didn't go out to infect the rest of the universe. I like to believe, despite being damaged, he doesn't go out of his way to harm survivors, as Blade Knight and other survivors believe.

Kate's unexpected death really sets the tone of the show, as it is both anticlimactic and sudden. I also like how Kamala isn't a Captain Marvel fan since in this universe, she would've never heard about her.

I really love the implication that Riri created a zombie vaccine based on the syringe Riri used and how she didn't turn into a zombie based on the ending. Riri holds the key to stopping the zombie plague.

I love how the Black Widow movie plot threads connect in this show, specifically how Melina repurposed the Red Room's mind control to instead control zombies.

I like to think that the SHIELD remnant is Nick Fury's group since I can see Talos and his faction of Skulls being the ones to tell Fury about the Nova Corps. I also wonder if the Nova Corps shot down their Quinjet.

Red Guardian may not be Captain America, but he has the heart of Captain America by having his speech. We also finally got Red Guardian vs Captain America.

Blade Knight's takedown of Zombie Ghost is a peak fight scene. That was the moment that cemented me as a Blade fan.

I love how we got to see the outbreak from the POV of the Shang-Chi movie characters in the form of a long take. I like the subtle nod to the joke about seagulls eating ants from the Ant-Man and The Wasp movie. In general, it's grimly funny how Jimmy Woo's failure to catch Scoot and the Pyms results in the zombie apocalypse.

I find it funny that the Ten Rings utilized their resources and skills more effectively than the US military and the Avengers from the What If Zombie episode. Wenwu may be many things, but he truly is a father by sacrificing all of his Ten Rings with no hesitation.

Zemo being in this show is unexpected, to say the least, but I like how they utilize his character to showcase that not all survivors are good people. I love how the Raft is utilized as one of the few safe havens left on Earth. John Walker, in every universe, really is the teacher's pet to whoever is in charge.

Shang-Chi x Yelena ship is so unexpected, but I ship it haha. I wonder if that'll be an actual thing in the upcoming Avengers movies.

Zombie Namor is an absolute menace. I love how Laura and Nora reuse Namor's theme from Wakanda Forever, which really highlights the horror that is Zombie Namor.

David Harbour's and Florence Pugh's voice acting is off the charts in their characters' last interaction with one another.

Black Panther is the MVP and goat of the survivors of the What If Zombie episode. He lost a leg and his Kingdom, but he still sacrificed himself to take down Thanos and save the universe.

Seeing the skull of Rocket wasn't on my bucket list. Thor, Rocket, and Groot really think they're their Infinity War selves by trying to recreate that epic moment.

Zombie Wanda is such a good villain. Zombie Wanda is her Infinity War self, but with her DSMoM characterization. She really embodies the devil masquerading as an angel vibes.

Red Guardian is built differently. He managed to hold out for a long time after getting infected. He may not be Captain America, but he's a true hero.

Marvel Zombies Thor is peak for being treated seriously. I don't blame Kamala Khan for being so hyped when Thor is back to normal. I'm just happy to see Thor being portrayed back to his serious, tragic self.

I love how the show implies the Nova Corps rebuilt itself in-between Infinity War and Endgame. I wonder if that's the case in the Sacred Timeline.

Blade Knight is aura farming incarnate. I honestly didn't understand the Blade movie hype until this show. The show made me so angry that the Blade movie is suffering so many BTS issues.

In a nutshell, Blade Knight is him.

Infinity Hulk is unexpected but not unwelcome. It's crazy how the show portrayed the Hulk and Thor better than the MCU in Endgame and the post-Endgame landscape.

The London Master has so many unexpected, cool action sequences. Spider-Man ripping off the heads of zombies will live rent free in my head haha.

I don't blame Kamala for ultimately giving in to Wanda's plan after going through so much despair and not wanting it to be for nothing, even if that means literally dealing with the devil.

Wanda really goes insane in every universe, except for that 1602 universe. I love how her go-to solution is generally just summoning a hex.

I need S2 ASAP. They cannot end the show just like that. I really do like how it's confirmed Bucky survives that What If zombies episode. I'm hoping he'll show up in S2 alongside Riri to help undo the zombie virus for good.

So yeah, this is a really great show. I just wish the Multiverse Saga could actually give up more team-up movies because the small glimpses we got here are so good.

"You're right. We can't know for sure, but we have to hold on to hope. I mean, you saw Thor drinking his life away in defeat, regret in his eyes. But in the end, what he really wanted was one last chance to fight. And you gave that to him. You gave that to all of us. I'll always be grateful to you for that. And if we have one more, I'm gonna take it." Xu Shang-Chi

"You sure?" Kamala Khan

"Hey, we have to win one of these eventually, don't we? Also, am I crazy or did Thor kind of make you an Avenger back there?" Xu Shang-Chi

My reactions & thoughts to Marvel Zombies!

Man, I did not expect FRIDAY missing Tony and refusing to leave Riri to make me emotional! 😭

I loved seeing Natasha's family meeting Ms. Marvel, so much! Crossovers are always so cool when we see different character's lives all the way up to the point where they meet each other, and they both feel so strongly like the main characters at the same time like they are two magnets pushing against each other.

Red Guardian's speech was AWESOME & I loved so much that the other Widows joined forces with him, Melina, and Yelena. Red Guardian FINALLY getting his epic battle with Cap was INCREDIBLE to see! The fighting choreography was so creative and well-done!

When Shang-Chi's dad said, "soft-hearted fool," I thought he was calling his son that. But then he sacrificed himself for his son, and I realized he was the "soft-hearted fool." Absolutely beautifully tragic. He finally got his priorities in order and realized he couldn't be the bad guy in every situation.

Yelena flirted with Shang-Chi?! Now, THIS is the wild kind of character interaction I love to see! This show is like if they threw all of the blorbos in a jar and then shook it, lol!! I definitely ship Shang-Chi with Katie, but I love all of the very different personalities reacting to each other and becoming friends. Because, despite all of their very different origins, personalities, powers, and loyalties, they all want the same thing. To be safe again.

Red Guardian's face and the voice acting when Yelena died... wow. That was the rawest, most intensely realistic depiction of grief.

Seeing Rocket's skeleton was the most heartbreaking, sickest thing in this show. There's so much death and blood, but the speed at which Rocket was obliterated was the most brutal.

The Wakandan music when T'Challa fought Thanos... oh, man, it made me emotional. He always has a hero's death in every universe.

Spider-Man's fighting was the most efficient, awesome thing. He is way stronger and smarter than his enemies and even his allies think.

"I deeply regret meeting all of you." And then Zemo died!! Bro, those are incredible last words.

Scarlet Witch is so underrated and underused in the MCU - she's seriously one of the most powerful characters in this universe. And when she THINKS she's right about something, she will follow that path no matter who tells her not to. She's like Dr. Strange that way - they can justify absolutely anything and make themselves the hero in their own mind.

That ENDING, man!! Was Kamala in a fake world since episode 1?! How is Riri alive?!

The MCU also needs to do an Agents of Atlas project. We got the whole team in Marvel Zombies. Jimmy Woo, Shang-Chi, Katy, Li Ching-Lin/ Death Dealer, Kamala, and we even got Kamran there.
