Had a brief idea of Word and Kawake’s conversations going somewhat differently. That little bit of convo with him is some of my fave scenes, because we get to see Word manipulating people based on understanding their motives... even though much could be improved lmao. LIKE. How does collecting grey draconium stop the DHW??? Psfttt. Also Word in that scene revealed some of his own bitterness at being “Kicked out of the races”, which I’ve quite literally interpreted to mean Word never finishing the All City Races , not him being kicked out of priesthood tho that’s part of it. Dude gets rejected immediately post-banishment, works with Zulay instead, goes to the Academy as crew-mate/mechanist (Basically who Parm is on Artha’s team.) I’ve kinda... scrapped the whole Drakkus and Mortis on elite tracks thing, because holy hell Word is seriously juggling way too much on his own to be realistic. Cue The Wife shouldering part of the glory/work to set up Paynn Inc haha.
Anyway, with all those changes, here’s my quick revision of the scene with Kawake. Even tho his wife’s death is likely a touchy subject, Word’s doing the whole “we’re in the same shoes” kind of deal, Zulay’s prosthetic is just based off my design lol so no canon basis there beyond “I think it’d be cool if Word investigated actual prosthetic tech not only because of his own disability, but also for Zulay’s sake. Also wooo more disabled characters”
