The Curious Case of the Missing Spirit
Does anyone else find it weird in retrospect that we never saw a scene with Ven and his Chirithy in Khux? You would think they’d show at least one interaction to make their reunion in 3 hit harder but they just didn’t. Is there supposed to be an implication behind that? I’ve always thought that during either Ventus’ apprenticeship under Xehanort or when he shattered his own heart was how his Chirithy ended up in the final world. However, one day I read this fanfic where the Darkness had severed Ventus’ connection to his Chirithy before it even killed Strelitzia—which is pretty early on in Khux’s story and it got me thinking.
Ventus mentioned that he’s been on his own when he met Ephemer and Skuld. It’s not like him to ignore the positive way a friend has impacted him, and Chirithy being his dreameater would obviously aim to protect him and care for him. Or do Chirithies not count?
Also I feel like the perfect scene for Chirithy to appear was when Ventus woke up crying after remembering what happened to Streliztia. They could’ve comforted him and tried to convince him that what happened wasn’t his fault. On top of that, I doubt Chirithy would’ve ever let Xehanort take things as far as he did. They can literally protect their wielders heart by becoming dream eaters. Additionally, Chirithies in general have an array of knowledge, wouldn’t Xehanort like to exploit that. It’s not like he wouldn’t know what a Chirithy is because he has Players memories.
Something is just so off.
Chirithies can suppress memories but was it Chirithy suppressing Ventus’ memory or the Darkness? Presumably it was the Darkness since it altered Ventus’ memory of what happened in the abandoned warehouse where it possessed him, struck Strelitzia down, and made Ventus take her book and spot as a Union Leader while disguised as Master Ava. So did Darkness send Chirithy to the Final World to isolate and manipulate Ventus further? If I recall correctly, Chirithies are “sensitive to others' hearts, being able to sense the pure light of the Princesses of Heart and discerning the scent of darkness” meaning it would’ve realized what it’s trying to do.
If the Darkness did interfere with his connection to his Chirithy, that explains why Ventus felt so lonely. He lost his one friend (most likely at seven or eight) and didn’t have any real support until he was ten.
I think this is all I can think of but I hope this gets answered. Also here’s the fanfic for those who want to check it out: https://archiveofourown.org/works/52478728/chapters/132760666
Crosses your unions
The Ventus and Strelitzia parallels break me.
We have both of these lonely kids, okay. They’re always on the boundary, just out of frame. Wallflowers. Too shy to stick out and make friends, but they want friends, they want friends desperately.
And just when their goal is in sight, right when they’re so close to achieving their dreams— everything fails. Light expires. Darkness prevails.
"The longer you exist without a tangible form, the more your will fades. Darkness had form when the Master of Masters was a boy, right? You abandoned it to defeat light—that's when darkness became a whole. But then you realized...that you couldn't maintain your will as one or as a whole. Which is why...you still need a physical form. You call it infection and expansion, but you're just stealing the bodies of those with hearts. You act like it's this grandiose plan, when it's actually kind of sad and pathetic."
Im not good at gifs, that one was by vampirically, but. It has the line I want to talk about.
I didn't realize it, because Kingdom Hearts dialogue, but. In the Union Cross finale, Luxu calls Darkness "sad and pathetic" for having to steal people's bodies because it doesn't have one.
And. The irony of that. From Luxu of all people.
...Do we think that. Darkness is where he got the idea from? The scene where Luxu meets Brain is seemingly right afterward.
I'm sure the Master foresaw Luxu's body hopping, but the Master doesn't explicitly. Tell him. To do that. Just to "watch" and not interfere. And pass the No Name on to an apprentice.
In KH3 he says he's been through many forms and semblances, but it's still him underneath it all, and he says that Darkness needs bodies because they're losing their identity, but. Maybe the difference between him and Darkness is he never had a point where he was "formless"? He's always had a body, just not necessarily the one he started with.
If anyone has a better gif of that scene with Luxu and Darkness, great, but. I never made the connection between. Luxu telling Darkness off for using other bodies. When. Using other bodies would become Luxu's whole thing.
Kingdom Hearts theory video: The True Darkness
One of my friend (Styx) finally release his last KH video! He's been working on it since quite a while to put both an English and French version out. He even made lot of animation himself in the style of KHUX/KHDR! (they are incredible)
This is about one of his biggest theory & interpretation concerning KH. About how one of main darkness in KHUX might actually be behind everything, pulling the strings from the shadows. How this main Darkness in the No Name keyblade, (the black goat) actually possessed & corrupted Xehanort.
Anyway it's a very nice and welcome video while we wait until we get some news. There's also a couple of funny moments x)

And here's the link for the French version:
KH3&4 take place inside the Data Worlds
As Xehanort is reenacting the KHUX Keyblade War in its entirety, even going so far as to make Kairi his fourteenth darkness in the place of Baldr, I believe KH3 and KH4 take place inside the Data Worlds.
This will be really short so don't be afraid of the read-more. I'm not going over every little detail as I feel this is a very simple "yes, this is clearly what's happening" situation.
I've had the rug pulled from beneath my feet
"Baldr was-- I never thought he was the kind of person who could fall to darkness."
He wishes he'd figured it out sooner. That he'd realized who the inky, possessive, regretful darkness was coming from.
He realizes, as Vidar speaks, that Vor is still missing, though he waits until Vidar is done to point this out.
"Wait -- where's Vor?"
"She headed to the tower, to report to Master Odin about her return. I told her he's likely to be there meditating."
"So~ it seems like you haven't managed to gather the seven lights!"
Xehanort gasps like he'd forgotten to breathe as the choking darkness swirls into a being behind him. Baldr.
He and Eraqus jump back, Xehanort grips his Keyblade.
"I could play the part, if you like."
His voice -- tainted by what Xehanort now realizes to be darkness, not illness, how could he have not seen it before? -- is amused.
Eraqus shifts, lowering his weapon. Xehanort can't stand here much longer -- the darkness seems infectious, creeping its way into his own heart. But he stands strong, keeping his Starlight raised.
"So..It's true."
It's only by luck that he keeps his voice steady. Baldr -- Darkness, not Baldr -- gives a laugh.
"I was worried you'd tell everyone my secret. You've known for a while, haven't you?"
Hearts -- his tone is so smug, so knowing..
Eraqus bristles at the accusation against his friend. He isn't wrong, though...
"Baldr, darkness may have found a way inside your heart, but you're still you."
No... Can't he see? This isn't Baldr anymore. Xehanort can hardly find Baldr's shining light amidst the terrible, guilty, smothering Darkness.
"I'll bring you back to us!"
Darkness bows Baldr's head.
"Are you sure you want to do that? We're one now. If I disappear, he will too."
Vidar's light sparks behind Xehanort as the other raises the shimmering extension of himself.
"There's no time to debate this. We have no other choice."
Vali and Vala's lights shimmer and sparkle with their determination -- though Vali's is dulled in the sense of hidden, restrained, much like the boy himself is. Still, Xehanort has never had to worry if his upperclassman would fall to the darkness, even if his light wasn't as prominent. Darkness scoffs.
"Did you really think I'd even let you try? I have business at the tower."
With that, Darkness disappears, and Xehanort gasps for breath once more. Finally. Felt like he was about to smother under such intense feelings.
Business at the tower. He must be going after--
"Vor!"
Eraqus has the realization the same time he does. Leaving the three upperclassmen behind, the two friends rush off to stop Darkness.
