The Heir by Sophie Lark

Anna is a mafia queen. That means she would never tolerate a civilian or a soldier. She only submits to the motherf&cking king.

If you’ve seen my reviews, you know how much mafia romances mean to me. And to experience that world this way was amazing! I didn’t read the “prequel” series for this, but it doesn’t really affect the way this reads. This gives the right information, so everything makes sense. Think Hogwarts meets mafia. It’s a giant castle, where children of mafia bosses and high ups go to school to properly train for their futures. But that seems too easy, so of course this offers tons of drama and revenge! Dean seemed like the underdog, so I favored him. Leo and Anna had each other’s back, so I gotta have Dean’s! I regretted that decision that quickly! While he’s obviously got a good devious head on his shoulders, he is absolutely not levelheaded enough to be any kind of leader, or lover. Which means my thought of “I can’t wait to see the destruction this love triangle causes” was also regretted as well! But this is still a mafia romance, so love has to be messy. But then, it’s a beautiful thing. I kind of want to keep reading the series because of how much I enjoyed this one, but I’m not really interested in the other characters in the way that I was Anna and Leo. But I may change my mind.
