Ok but like..
You know how in the wizarding world theres knuts right? Like the money?
Well imagine a muggleborn going into a book shop, them bringing up a book to the casheir and the casheir being like: “ One copy of Hogwarts:A History?Nice choice..how would you like to pay?” and the muggleborn, being as loud as they can,to the point where it isnt yelling, saying “deez knuts” and the silence in the bookstore is broken becuase literally every muggleborn is bawling with laughter.
All the pure bloods would be so confused like “wtf”
i don’t understand why people think neopronouns are confusing when the currency system in harry potter exists where it’s 29 knuts in a sickle and 17 sickles in a galleon
Sure, it’s fun to dream about being a wizard. But there would be a couple of downsides if that dream ever came true. Maybe it’s not so bad being a Muggle?
I have figured out how American wizard money transfers to American money
So today, I was thinking about something: I know how much galleons, sickles, and knuts are worth in American dollars, but not the American wizarding currency. So, I found the two instances that it was used in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie. One, when it is said that a magazine is worth 23 Sprinks, and the second time is on a newspaper, where information on a murderer is rewarded by 3,500 dragots.
So if a magazine is worth 23 Sprinks, and magazines in 1926 were worth about 25 cents, I can probably assume that the Sprink is worth around $0.01 in US currency. So that was easy.
Next, the information on the wanted criminal. Information on a wanted murderer in the 1920s was rewarded with about $5,000 at the time. So we can safely deduce that 3,500 dragots is worth around $5,000. So, divide it, and you get that 1 Dragot is worth about $1.50.
So,
1 Dragot = $1.50,
1/2 Dragot = $0.75,
1/4 Dragot = $0.38, and
1 Sprink = $0.01
There's 150 Sprinks in 1 Dragot.

today i spent 12 hours at school and in those twelve hours i took one test, one pop-up quiz, and had two fire alarms go off - both of which were not drills and fire tucks actually came. needless to say i was totally panicking but i’m okay and living. phew!!
tunes: little talks - of monsters and men
A little bookmark for a friend of mine :D She likes the Niffler from "Fantastic beasts and where to find them" so she got a baby Niffler holding its precious Galleon surrounded by other Galleons, Sickles and Knuts :D And the blue background is for her favourite colour <3 I like the outcome and I think/hoped she did too :D
Knuts
Omg you guys!! In Harry Potter, one of their forms of currency is called a "Knut". So if you were a coal miner wizard, your friend could be like, "can I have 5 knuts?" And you'd be all, "no way, man, I worked the shaft real hard for these knuts" 😂
