Anime of the day: Kochoki: Wakaki Nobunaga

Alt title: Kochoki

Released: 2019

This anime is a historical drama about Oda Nobunaga’s conflict with his brother Nobuyuki.  Considering how Nobunaga is frequently referenced in anime and manga, it’s only logical to watch anime about him. Especially when it’s as nicely done as this. I especially enjoy how it captures a less famous part of his life. This is from when Nobunaga was growing up, but that doesn’t make there is a lack of action.

I'm telling ya, this is how Toshiie is like with Hideyoshi in a lot of stories. Pretty sure they're like this in SLBP too. Except in SLBP it's Hideyoshi who was there before Inuchiyo.

Like the ages align too. Hideyoshi is only 2 or 3 years younger than Nobunaga, Toshiie even younger. The MC here is more or less Nobu's age.

I know, I know, notorious trash shipper. I have skewed perspective. Still, yanno.

I am just going to laugh this to the grave. Somebody actually created a Nobu otome and made a Hideyoshi in disguise as the MC.

Anime Spotlight - Kochoki: Wakaki Nobunaga 

Did I watch this anime because it was full of beautiful boys and potential yaoi, hell yes I did but it also was pretty good for something that falls into my guilty pleasure camp.

The plot is an adaptation of Nobunaga Oda's teenage years up to his time as a warlord against his brother, Nobuyuki.

So its basically being a very lose adaptation of true historical events and while it takes some liberties its actually a lot of fun with some cool battles and genuine heart break in how the relationship between the brothers plays out. There are some BL elements in how close some of the guys are and that Nobuyuki’s adviser is a manipulating seducing dick.

I loved the character designs and the animation its beautiful, I feel for the relationship between Nobunaga and Kichiou and I do love a historical setting for my anime and this one is beautiful and entertaining and worth checking out.
