WHICH IS MORE SMASHABLE?
Spirit Troll
Kruthik
On the left, the Spirit Troll! 9 ft (2.7 m) regenerating giants. No predators or society, they just wander around eating and doing whatever they please. Their regeneration is responsive to everything from thier diet to the source of the wounds. One ripped apart with psychic power might have thier body regenerate as an incorporeal being! Note, this is NOT undead, they are still alive. They're just also incorporeal, existing as pure regenerating energy. They often don't even notice what's happened. On the right is the combination of a drake with an insect from Hell! The kruthik is a pack hunting terror. 6 feet (1.8 meters) long, with Hive lords being twice as big. This burrowing creature is covered in spines and is the size of a horse, with the intelligence of your average lizardfolk. The Hive lords are as smart as your average human or goblin! You ever read Sand Kings by George R R Martin? This is kinda like a sand king, but less loyal and not telepathic.
I painted some Tyranid proxies as stand ins for Kruthik since there are no Kruthik 3d prints.
Not sure when I’ll go back to finish these. The combat I made them for is past, and something about the paint job just wasn’t vibing with me. Decently happy with the big boy in the middle, but most of the small ones just feel wrong somehow and I don’t know how to save them. Maybe I’ll finish them off one day, but for now I think they’ll stay like this.
C&Cs always welcome, but especially on these.
Boss fight with a kruthik hive lord
Did a page of quick dnd monster doodles, takin most of em as requests from my good buddies. Had a lot of fun with em and might do more like this.
BUGS
listen
Colin and Gnollbard talk about your favorite monsters, spooks, and nasty guys that inhabit your fantasy settings. This week we look at bugs and especially Thri-keen!
We apologize for the delay as Colin recently went through a less than expected move. You might notice a few background noise issues as well. We’re still dialing in on the new recording space!
