#JackedKirby - The Claw of the Dragon!!! Jack was never shy about pinch hitting on book or cover if his talents were needed. He would come in, do the covers or pencils and most times leave just as quickly. This was especially common when he returned to Marvel in 1975... he did dozens of cover and stories in addition to his own workload. But in his time at DC he didn't do nearly as much. But one example would have be his awesome pencils on Richard Dragon Kung Fu Fighter #Issue3 which was published in September of 1975. Richard Dragon is a character created by writer Denny O'Neil and artist Jim Dennis. The character first appeared in a novel, but O'Neil integrated the character into the DC Universe in his own book. He is considered one of the most feared martial artists in the DC Universe. He also would go on to train Batman, Oracle, Huntress, The Question and others... The first couple of issues featured different artists until Ric Estrada finally settled into the role with Issue 4. But Jack got his chance with the character on Issue 3, and he killed it! The story has Dragon battling an International arms dealer called The Weapons Master. Dragon confronts him and a gang of 20 foot soldiers who are instructed to attack him. Although the odds are against him, Dragon reminds calm and channels his inner chi through his trademark jade pendent awaiting the attack. The bottom panel is typical Kirby greatness with a half body shot of Dragon making a claw like hand motion and pawing at his jade Dragon... he is just waiting for it to pop off. And unfortunately for this crew it does... the next few pages are fantastic Kirby fight panels, with Dragon laying waste to the whole damn crew! A very cool single issue that Kirby-fies this awesome character! #Jackkirby #KingKirby #Kirby #RichardDragon #KungFuFighter #70sComics #ComicsOfThe70s #GuestPencils #GuestArtist #KirbyPencils #ClawOfTheDragon #Comic #Comics #ComicBook #ComicBooks #IGcomics #igcomiccommunity #ComicsOfIG #DennyOneil #DC #DCComics
