5. What’s a crackship you love? Hmmmm, so this is an interesting question. I'm not sure if we define crackship as within fandom, or like, cross fandom? Like, absolutely banana-boat type ship? WHAT IS THE CRITERIA? TO FANLORE: "A crack ship is a ship that is highly ridiculous, bizarre, disturbing, and/or unlikely to ever become canon. The characters don't have any chemistry, never interact, are in different canons or timelines, are different species, one is an inanimate object, etc." OK. Using this criterion (subtract disturbing, though, because... no?):

(MCU) MARVEL: WinterIron (Bucky x Tony) & WinterHawk (Bucky x Clint) probably both count in the MCU for Crackship selections. WinterHawk makes a bit more sense in some of the comic stories (Hawkeye & The WinterSoldier) with a bonus option of a Triad featuring Natasha, if you're into that. (I'm not mad about it, to be honest).

TMFU/The Man From Uncle (Movie): Napollya/Spies In Love, etc. So I love Napoleon Solo x Illya Kuryakin. I'm not sorry for it. I'll probably write about it. CanonWise, probably not. Bromance wise? Off the charts. Blame Henry & Armie, if you must.

Criminal Minds: Derek Morgan x Spencer Reid. Not gonna become canon but honestly, there was way too much "Pretty Boy" for me not to go "they should totally make out". This is a pairing I'm casually affectionate for, I haven't read much or written any.

Inception: Do we consider DreamHusbands aka Arthur x Eames a crackship? Unlikely to become canon and minimal interaction. Whatever, I ship it like burning.

DC (Comics, Cartoon, DCCU, Whatever): I'm always a fan of SuperBat or SuperWonderBat.. So. Superman x Batman, Superman x Batman x WonderWoman, all good. Supremely powerful alien & warrior vs the man that keeps them human? Continueeee. 

Crossover Crackships: (I wasn’t sure above was cracky enough?)  *Eliot Spencer (Leverage) x Carlos "Cougar" Alvarez (Losers) x Jake Jensen (Losers) is a great triad ship. I read like, 2 fics but oh man, hot like burning. Toni Likey, very very much. *Lo Zingaro aka Fabio Cannizzaro (They Call Me Jeeg aka Lo Chiamavano Jeeg Robot) x Majid (Wolf): Bad Boys in Love CrossoverFic. Blame the TOG server. Luca Marinelli & Marwan Kenzari's chemistry in The Old Guard has me shipping a bunch of their alternate characters, but none as hard as these guys yet. It's pretty cracktastic, I'm still not sorry.

fic rec! 5K leverage fic featuring Hardison/Eliot

Summary: It was dumb luck that Eliot happened to be there when they came for Hardison.

Comments: I love how Eliot goes from “I’m falling into predictable behaviors and that’s bad. it should stop” to “you touch him one more time and I’ll kill you” in like, a thousand words. There’s h/c here, with Eliot being used as leverage against Hardison, but it ends in a first kiss so...it’s all good

It's now a second time I've read it and yup, I still love it.

Okay so as always here is a summary from laceymcbain and ao3 tags:

The first words Clint ever remembers Coulson saying to him are "talk to me." 

(Yeah, there’s not too much to go on)

Let's start with the language/style. I'm kinda anal about it, because if something has a bad language, I just don't read it. But this one has a nice language and it's funny. It's not meant to be a comedy, so you won't laugh out laud every few minutes, but it's hard not to be sarcastic with this two as your main characters.

The whole story basically consists of the Moments of Their Lives so you won't have one plot in it and it heavily fokus on Clint and Coulson's relationship. It has a changing point of view, but 90% of time Clint's a narrator.

Okay, so now a bit of spoilers.

SMALL SPOILER

Okay so the scene of bringing in the Black Widow is perfect. I saw a lot of those and this one? It's one of the best. I like that Clint didn't run on Coulson but went the other way around it and the way he explained why he believed that Natasha would actually want to work for SHIELD is, well, perfect.

BIG SPOILER

I really like the freak out Clint had because of (but not really) proposal. I liked his reaction (yeah, I like angst, sue me) and it was natural. He didn't jump around shouting yes and being happy, because Clint from this fic is not this kind of person and I liked the way it was resolved.

YEAH I KNOW THIS FEELING

The only thing I'm kinda not okay with is Natasha or more like the lack of her. She was never a character, even when they are close enough that Coulson calls here Tasha when talking about her. I mean, I understand, it was not about her, she was not meant to be a character, but she didn't even have a line while Sitwell did and he wasn't as close to Clint and Coulson as Natasha.

It's one of this works that I actually remember about, like, 2 years later, so I guess it speaks for itself. It's not a life changing fic, but still one that I'm gonna recommend because it's awesome 😃

Ok so what I described takes place in Six by laceymcbain, but it’s all a part of a series. it might seem like a lot, but it’s all so well written. I started with Smallville Stories but ended up going back and reading the Excelsior parts right after. I’m thinking if you didn’t want to read it all, Smallville Stories would be the most important part to get the most out of Six. Especially the part 1, On the Edge of a Knife, is sooo good

Sadly Six isn’t finished and I’m having a hard time with it, but I’m reaching the “don’t cry because it’s over smile because it happened” stage lol and also hoping the author sees all of my comments and by some miracle returns

the series has all the hurt/comfort my little heart could ever want, and two heroes who love Lex and won’t give up on him even as he’s flawed and self destructive. I love it. Here’s some summaries and links:

This is driving me crazy. Phil was brought in by Fury but no one had actually met him, although rumors of his badassedness were going around. Clint went out on an op with Sitwell. Things went sideways and in the midst of the chaos Coulson came on the comms and started running the show. On the transport back after, Jasper asked Clint what Coulson was like, and Clint happily told him that Coulson let him blow up the water tower. It was a while before they actually met. It's not Catch Your Voice.
