Wanted to know if you're still watching baseball. I'm very excited, I'm going to go to an event where they'll be interviewing Sports New York director John DeMarsico!
I am indeed still watching baseball, and that is very exciting! Congratulations!
My favorite thing about baseball currently is that the internet seems to be dedicated, the past couple weeks, to bringing me amazing photographs of baseball players in mid-leap.
For example, here are Daniel Schneemann and Jhonkensy Noel of the Guardians making a catch at the wall together:
(My favorite fact about Jhonkensy Noel is that his nickname, for obvious reasons, is "Big Christmas." I am pretty sure those are Christmas-themed cleats he's wearing.)
And then, yesterday, the Giants swept the As in the, um, Whatever We're Calling The Bay Bridge Series Now, and the internet brought me this victory picture:
That is Willy Adames and Mike Yastrzemski jumping for joy.
I don't know that I have a favorite fact about Yaz, but last year the closed-captioning was so bad that I started keeping a list of all of the worst ways it spelled his name; I think my favorite was "Mike Insurance Key."
It's sort of hard to see it in the camera angle in the broadcast, but my favorite fact about Willy Adames is that, when Heliot Ramos got a walk-off Little League home run last month (definitely my favorite baseball thing so far this season), when he gets to third base, you can see Willy Adames leap out of the dugout and run the last ninety feet right alongside him and meet him at home. I think that's very sweet.
Anyway. None of that has anything to do with what you said. I just wanted to share.
