Royal SeaWings
random bullshit GO
some seawing concepts for a project of mine!! pretty simplified for Reasons, but im having a lot of fun with them. ive got some more designs for this + a few other wof drawings im working on so expect more art soon!!!
Lagoon (The Lost Heir) is an adult female SeaWing and Aquaculture Specialist. She's plump with turquoise scales and only fed the locked up DoD leftovers for meals until being locked up.
Day 366- Lagoon
Recently, I got really into a swap AU of the SeaWing royal family — here’s the result. 🤓
So, let’s start with the queens:
In this AU, the characters swap personalities as well.
Lagoon🌀 would become such a cunning queen, with 100 500 plans for developing her tribe and expanding diplomatic ties — a great, wise dragoness. But, as they say, *still waters run deep*, and from the outside, this queen — the colour of the darkest ocean depths — would look quite mysterious and even a bit creepy, with her eternal mask of calm. Maybe she’s a bit off her rocker because of that… phew. There’s no information about Lagoona’s husband, so there was no one to swap Gill with.
Coral 💎… OH WELL… SHE’S ALREADY A DOUBLE‑EDGED SWORD IN THE ORIGINAL… a lady with a bit of a wild streak. But here it would be cranked up to the max:
- USING HER OWN DRAGONETS AS TOOLS? YES! ✨
- CARING ONLY ABOUT HER OWN SKIN AND THE CHANCE TO BOLT SO SHE CAN SCRIBBLE A FEW MORE BLOOD‑SOAKED, ACTION‑PACKED NOVELS? DAMN RIGHT! ✨
- THINKING ONLY ABOUT BUILDING A PALACE FOR HER DRACONIC ass? YEP! ✨
A brazen queen who doesn’t really care about her own family, as long as she can maintain her high status in the inter‑tribal arena and among her peers. Well, in the future, she’d get what’s coming to her… 🗡
Now, the magical kids:
Albatross 🪽 — grandpa got lucky on several fronts here:
- He’s young and handsome :)
- He has a decent mum who wouldn’t use him as a means to build huge structures and fountains.
In this AU, Lagoon could boldly send Princess Burn packing and wouldn’t seek to use her son’s powers for military purposes. Here, he’s a happy teenage dragon from a royal family, enjoying life, friends with a chubby… albatross, and generally loves ornithology. Of course, he’s afraid of the fate of his infamous great‑great‑great‑great‑great‑great‑great‑great‑great‑grandmother Anemone, who slaughtered her own family. 😁
Though I won’t deny that if he met Darkstalker, he’d also get carried away, just like the original Anemone — he’d try to show off in every way to impress the usurper from the NightWing tribe. But then again, there wouldn’t be a Darkstalker here — it’s a swap AU, after all. He’d 100 % swap places with Sunny. THAT SOUNDS REALLY INTERESTING, DAMN IT…
Anemone 🌺 — Coral already gave her a hard time in the first cycle, but in this AU, it’s lights out. 💀
Swap‑Coral exploits her own daughter every way she can and tries to control her at every turn. On her tiara is carved a metal anemone, which functions much like Amity and Odalia’s pendants — it maintains a telepathic link between mother and daughter over distance, so Coral can direct the dragonet’s actions, even down to choosing friends.
On Anemone’s front and hind legs are enchanted bracelets, created by her at her mother’s request. These bracelets suppress the dragonet’s will (Coral made her do it back when she was a naive little dragon, crafting the bracelets with a hidden spell — or maybe there was something written in tiny print…). Once she put them on, Anemone could no longer protest or resist the queen’s wishes, becoming an endless source of free perks for her mum…
In the future, one of the dragons will help her remove these “shackles”. And it will definitely be Tamarin, because I’d really like to swap her in as well — it would make for an amazing romantic storyline. Here, the RainWing’s character would be tougher toward other tribes, a dangerous amazon — but a tormented dragoness with magical powers would tug at her heart. 😳🫳🕶
And what would the freed Anemone do to her whole family next…? Tamarin would love it — but would she survive?
Aaand Tsunami and Pearl:
Tsunami 🌊 would be her mother’s favourite thanks to her wild temper and fiery nature. The SeaWing princess would pick up plenty of bad habits from Coral and dream of becoming a warlord. Her interest in this field wouldn’t be about protecting the tribe or boosting its prestige, but rather about bloody battles, the clang of swords, and seizing loads of trophies. And she’d have a terrible relationship with Anemone — Tsunami would treat her not as a sister, but as an object that should silently do its job and stay out of the way.
Coral would have mixed feelings about her own daughter: on one hand, she’s like her and hilariously shouts at the servants; on the other, Tsunami is clearly baring her claws at her…
However, Tsunami, as the favourite princess, wasn’t often allowed onto the battlefield, so she had to sourly settle for an analogue of “toy troops” — made up of subordinates and little dragonets from the court. And in her attempts to drill them like an army, she’d shout at them as if she were the toughest general in the whole ocean…
Pearl🐚 — in the swap AU, she wouldn’t be a hostage to circumstances that crowned her, but a lost princess. Her character would be like Rarity’s — with the airs of an aristocratic diva, but always ready to help and not afraid to dive headfirst into some mess. Her pretty appearance, adorned with lots of jewellery and fabrics, would contrast with the scars she’s earned along her *Dragonet of Destiny* journey.
After Queen Thorn ascended the throne, Pearl would stay in the SeaWing kingdom, taking on a role closely tied to the arts, while also learning the basics of diplomacy and such, so she could eventually take Lagoona’s place (since Albatross is now the prince, he can’t claim the crown). Speaking of him, they’d have a great bro‑sister relationship.
And that’s how it turned out. ‿︵‿︵‿︵‿ヽ(°□° )ノ︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
Should I keep going?
For the expression chart, do B9 with Queen Lagoon. It would be so funny.
Reminder that this is still open :3
Link to see which ones I’ve already done :p
could therapy even save him at this point
