The following is an excerpt from the latest Zoro/Sanji WIP I'm working on (the pile is getting out of control dear lord) that I'm sharing (like a teaser?) for the hell of it!
For some context, Sanji is eavesdropping.
“—so, uh—who is it? Not me, right, ‘cause—”
“No, not you.” Sanji could practically hear Zoro’s eyes roll.
“Is it Vivi? I couldn’t blame ya—”
It has to be Nami, he realizes, because it patently can’t be me. The thought plunges through Sanji with a ripple of nausea. Sanji abandons his work to lean forward on folded arms—entranced—as though the transponder could feed him the secrets of the universe. Well if it has to be Zoro—he would treat her right, wouldn’t he? Their issues aside, Sanji could acknowledge that Zoro is an exceptional kind of guy.
That doesn’t make him feel any less sickened. Gonna see Chopper later—might be coming down with something, he notes. He also considers reducing his own allocation of raw fish in a week.
“Just tell me, man—please—you’re killing me,” Usopp begs.
I don't know why I like making Sanji such an idiot (When it comes to his feelings for Zoro) and I don't know if I should feel bad about it. But it amuses me to write. so
