Pretty, tourist friendly and highly walkable, there’s little outside the walls of Jaipur’s Old City to tempt you out. Even so, I meandered through the narrow back streets, cluttered with shops and honking mopeds, to the more spacious, but much less aesthetic, new city area. My journey wasn’t pure curiosity though, as I’d heard of a cafe whose lassis were famous for being the most delicious: ‘Lassiwala’ ...And dayummmm it was tasty! This sweet, creamy, with a hint of sharpness, concoction was the best I’ve had yet, made all the more inviting by being served in a ‘disposable’ clay cup. It felt odd throwing it into the bin afterwards, but anything that reduces the use of plastic is a good thing, surely..??
