To the End of the Line
i’ve been seeing a lot of those “which straw hats dream is easiest/hardest to achieve” videos a lot and there’s a common pattern of people saying choppers is near impossible to achieve, which i strongly disagree with. and the more i think about it, i disagree with where almost all of these videos rank the characters. so here is my ranking, i have three phases i believe each straw hat will achieve their dream: immediately after finding the one piece, during the war before/afterwards, and during the epilogue of the story. here it is in chronological order:
1. simultaneously luffy, robin, and franky: the dreams of becoming pirate king, uncovering the full truth of the world, and building the ship that finds the one piece are all achieved as soon as the straw hats arrive at laugh tale together. it’s simple as that, find the one piece and they’re done.
2. simultaneously zoro, usopp and chopper: presuming the war against the world government and assorted pirate groups occurs after finding the one piece, which makes sense considering the information of the void century is going to be a tool that can be used against imu, this war is where zoro will become the greatest swordsman fighting against mihawk and where usopp will hopefully be at a point where he is no longer a coward and can be a warrior against whatever forces are thrown at him. people expecting this development to happen at elbaf confuse me because that’s like expecting usopp to leave the crew before finding the one piece. nobody’s dreams will be achieved before getting to laugh tale you can bet on that. i put chopper here because while people think him becoming the panacea is impossible, they don’t realise he already is the panacea. he has never let a patient die and has cured every impossible to cure disease he’s interacted with. this war will help him realise that he is essentially keeping the straw hat allies entire forces alive, something he can later apply globally in the epilogue.
3. simultaneously sanji, vivi and jinbe: thinking abstractly, both sanji and jinbe’s dreams are achieved by liberating fishman island from under the red line/blood serpent. the all blue and the freedom of the fishmen will be achieved after the world government is defeated. and vivis multiple dreams of rejoining the straw hats, freeing alabasta from government control, and avenging her father and great ancestor will all be achieved by this point.
4. brook: this is assuming the potential upcoming backstory doesn’t change brooks dream or what we know about him, brooks dream to reunite with laboon will be achieved in the epilogue or during a period after laugh tale where the straw hats complete their lap around the grand line.
5. nami: people really underestimate how difficult this one is to complete. nami specifically says she wants to create charts based on just the places she travels to. her map of the world isn’t done after she gets to laugh tale because she’s not tracing any charts of the other 3 blues, nor the other 4-5 routes on the grand line. in the epilogue i expect nami to continue travelling to each of the seas and down each path of the grand line, perhaps with luffy considering to become king of the pirates is to conquer the grand line (roger did this by travelling around it multiple times). hers will certainly be the last to be achieved, and her publishing her map of the world will be a sign of progress for the world as the government will not be there any longer to prevent knowledge of the world from spreading.
some of these could move around, particularly choppers. the panacea could be amongst the one piece treasure, or it could be within him all along. but either way i stand on the fact that his is not the most difficult to achieve, considering he’s already arguably the greatest doctor in the world.
Hey, when Roger finally made the trip to Laughtale, Buggy was the only one on the crew to fall sick so he couldn't make it to the final island. So Shanks opted to stay with him.
Buggy was also the only member of the crew that had eaten a devil fruit. They said it was a sudden illness too.
| Wonder………
Also, immediately Roger died, Shanks changed his mind about going to the final island.
There's lots of theories on why. Buggy wanted to leave immediately.
It makes no sense for the Island to resist Devil Fruit users because most of the main cast have devil fruits. Plus, Buggy was a child when it happened.
Perhaps one needs to reach a certain level of strength.
If that's the case, Shanks would never tell Buggy that he was the reason they couldn't go. Oooooh theories.
It would be SO FUCKING FUNNY if the treasure of "The One Piece" just wound being like, a giant pile of regular pirate treasure. Gold, treasure chests, jewels, maps to other treasure.
Like, the Straw Hat Pirates set out on this incredible, emotionally charged adventure, overthrowing tyranny and setting people free while chasing their own dreams. Luffy becomes the reincarnation of an ancient Sun God and potentially puts an end to a cycle of tyranny and oppression that's lasted AT LEAST 800 years...and at the final island with all this foreshadowing and lore and worldbuilding, becoming the greatest pirate crew in the world and revealing the secrets of the world Government...it's just money?
That's not what I WANT it to be, but what an incredible anti-climax that would be.
Personally, I think the One Piece is the last piece of a story told by Joyboy, engraved in a final Poneglyph, that describes the events of his own time around the void century, and explain the ridiculous circumstances surrounding the Celestial Dragons' and World Government's formation and rise to power. I think it's something completely silly that happened a long time ago that got blown WAY out of proportion somehow, and THAT'S why Roger's crew laughed. He called the final island"laugh tale", because it was a story that made him and his crew laugh. Though I don't know why he needed to wait for Joyboy's return in Luffy for things to be "ready". Maybe revealing the details of the story would undermine the myth of the World Government's righteousness and the Celestial Dragons' importance, and foment rebellion, and without Joyboy they would quickly be silenced, the spread of the story cut off by IMU or a giant buster call. I dunno, it's the part that's hardest to rectify.
It just feels to me, like they discovered that the "Emperor has no clothes" somehow. Like all this world government, Celestial Dragon stuff is just so stupid and funny, they had to laugh at like, the irony of it or something.
Initially started writing this just wanting to put down the funny idea I had for One Piece's climax, but I got thinking about what it would actually BE. My other thought is that it IS an anti-climax, but in a different way. It's LITERALLY a joke told by Nika engraved in a poneglyph, and by writing it down and going so far to keep it hidden from the government, he elevated its importance in their minds. Most of the pirates in search of it probably DO think it's just a giant pile of gold and jewels. I don't have anything concrete surrounding this, it's just that Nika is something of a trickster god. He's always laughing, so playing a prank on all the world by leaving a "mysterious, globally significant treasure" behind, only for it to be a prank and he wrote down like, a Knock Knock joke would be in character.
i think Oda is deliberately playing us with next arc being the island only Roger traveled because there's TWO only Roger got to. Laugh tale and Lodestar
Additionally every translation has one thing in common... Elbaf ends in a flashy bang.
And the man marked by flames showing up too?
I don't know if I've said it here yet but this is my prediction for Lodestar LMAO and things are shaping up that I was right
Also, two characters who never met will meet and another pair will meet up well. I can't tell who the other pair is translation seem to switch between them have never met before and then have having met before. One thing I see often though is that next year will be a year all about reunions.
I doubt we'll see Luffy and Shanks reunited thatll probably be the end of the arc which I doubt we'll see next year seeing as we have a ways to go until Elbaf ends, as for the other reunions... the crew and Vivi, Momo, Yamato, Kin'emon, Otama? ESPECIALLY Vivi, she's going to be the first one. Our girl is coming back
I do wonder what pair of characters who've never met will finally meet. My first thought was Luffy and Dragon, however they did kinda meet at loguetown. Other possibilities are Vivi and Sabo, Loki and Shirahoshi/Blackbeard, Momo and Vivi, Luffy and Shamrock, and Luffy and Imu
Bit of a mess of a post I know but this made my brain tremble a Lot
THIS😭😭😭⬇️
Also this is majestic and I wanted it to be here⬇️
And this is so 💪💪🤝🤝🤝⬇️
Laugh tale, aka Raftel⬇️
In a previous post that I've shared, where Rayleigh remembers something, there's a glimpse of Roger, it's similar to this one. And tbh I was justtttt a little confused about him being Luffy because the resemblance over there was a little too much and it was just a glimpse. So I was confused up until now. But it is So Roger.⬇️
Broke me a little bit over here⬇️
This dialogue and this saying of goodbyes, brings me so much smiles and pain⬇️
