Since you mentioned a special liking for Mikkians, one of my favourite facts about them from the Knights of Fate book is that alongside their personal ethics and even society being based around the concepts of honour, loyalty, and honesty, they are also very individual because of their wide range of appearances and so tend to add makeup, rings, jewelry, tiaras, chains, etc. to their tendrils for personal effect.
Ohh, that’s so cool! Thank you very much for telling us!
Which Jinbe kimono is your favourite? I'm a big fan of his new skull and crossbones one.
oooh i like the white one with the pink flowers (flower petals ??) and the one he wears in the latest chapters, although we dont know what color it has !!
Have you seen the 2017 Jinbe figure from Banpresto? Very dynamic, reminds me of your depictions of him in your work.
Yes i have seen it XD i think they overdid it a little bit with the folds, but other than that its really really cool and i wish i could get it >o< 💖💖💖

Chapter 526
Ooooh, now I love that one. Beautiful, traditional ukiyo-e style. Nami looks amazing, draped like a courtesan, and Luffy and Zoro look like angry gods. *_*
Hopefully, I answered the question in the other set of replies (I had to do two. Accidentally posted it, then, because I enabled answers, Tumblr wouldn’t let me edit it, for reasons known only to Tumblr).
I don’t have any future plans for the movies, though I know I’m able to watch Strong World now. The lure of canon is too strong at the moment...
laughingstorm answered: The funny thing is, the constant diarrhea isn’t a side effect of his fruit, it’s just that for some reason Magellan really enjoys eating poisoned food since he’s immune. And it takes its toll on his bowels.
Poisoned food must taste godly, if he’s willing to spend all that time on the john. *_*
slaxtheraven answered: There’s basilisk in the manga:
I don’t think it’s too creepy… okamas are way worse. :P
That black and white one is oddly creepy to me. It’s the massive mouth and the unintelligent eyes. *shudder*
Bon Clay is totally the best, though. ^_^
blogquantumreality answered: Did you see Garp telling Ace he’d give him the fist of love yet? XD *ded* Also, I went back and looked at some of my caps of Impel Down and i just HOWLED laughing at Magellan having to be on the crapper like 10 hours a day. :’D
I can’t remember that fist of love comment? How did I miss that? D:
Magellan, man. Dat poisoned food. xD
leo-regulus answered: Things are getting exciting now! There’s gonna be lots of info coming your way for the next fifty episodes or so, and some you’ll see coming, but others I’m willing to bet you won’t :) Have fun!!!!! (Also, I’ll be joining you soon enough. I’m on 416)
Are you re-watching? That’s kind of awesome. Good to refresh your memory because, let’s be honest, there is a lot of canon to commit to memory. D:
deesorceress answered: I don’t think there’s any harm in telling you this about Jimbei,
Jimbei is a whale shark fishman, his name is a reference to the type of fishman he is and a type of Japanese clothing he wears.
Oh, I just tried to figure out his personality from the clothes he wears and couldn’t figure much out! How, exactly, is Jimbei’s clothing significant to sharks?
And I just realised for a lot of my 430 write up, I copied my notes and called him Jim. xD
paddster answered: Bounties aren´t representativ of ones strength at all. They only represent how much the world government/marines feel them to be a threat hence Dragon being the most wanted person since he wants to destroy the WG. When Crocodile became a warlord he was irc still a rookie thus 81million are way of by now. btw do you remember what WB said to Shanks about punishing Teach? Keep that in mind for later :)
Oh and I love Magellan :D
It’s awesome that Crocodile was so strong as a rookie, they made him a warlord straight away. The WG must have realised he was dangerous and decided to nip his opposition in the bud. I wonder how they convinced him? Maybe they bought him that fur coat. xD
Ohhhh yeah, I definitely remember what WB said to Shanks about punishing Teach. That’s why I’m thinking they might meet in future. WB gets to rescue Ace and punish Teach. Kills two birds with one stone. (I forget huge chunks of timeline, but I can remember what has been said about Blackbeard three hundred episodes ago. xD)
sebazu answered: You missed my question.*sadness* Anyway, you just said that Buggy used to have short hair and that’s wrong.
Argh, which question was that? D: I just caught up with a bunch, then realised I had these to get through. Did I answer it in the last lot of answers? (I’m having to do two today).
Yeah! I had no idea Buggy had long hair. Genuinely thought the blue things on his hat were tassels. xD
tempus-nexus answered: There’s a big deal with family legacy in OP. The Monkey line, Robin’s mom, Franky and Iceberg, Chopper and Hiluluk. Even the Celestial Dragons. If a family history is brought up, its probably important. Inherited dreams and the passing of promises.
You are definitely right there. I like that, in One Piece, you don’t have to be blood-related, either (which the case of Tom-san and Franky/Iceberg shows).
infriga answered: I wish people hadn’t hinted at Ace’s dad not being Dragon… That’s definitely a spoiler…
Hmmm... yeah. I would have continued believing Dragon was Ace’s dad until canon smacked me in the face with the truth. xD
martyslittleusedblog answered: Ohh, I ain’t telling ya who Ace’s dad is. I shall not spoil it for you. : >
I admire your restraint. xD
creative-type answered: Technically, in Buggy’s hair has always been long. In his first appearance the tassels of his hat *was* his hair.
I had no idea. I honestly thought they were tassels. He looks awesome with long hair.
slaxtheraven answered: Speaking about families, I just remember that Robin’s father was mentioned once back in Ohara flashbacks. He never appeared later on, so he’s still a mistery.
(Remembering all those things makes me question if I ain’t obsessed over a certain series too much…. lol)
The hell? How come I never caught that? D: I suppose I was so caught up with the trauma train of Ohara and Enies Lobby I never noticed Robin had a dad!
doctorvix answered: Now that you’ve seen the power of the 2 admirals:
1 Aokiji Hie-Hie (Ice-Ice) Logia
2 Kizaru Pika-Pika (Light-Light) Logia
Can you guess Akainu’s power? I will give you the most popular theories of that time:
Blood Logia (Blood magic from Dragon Age)
Nature Paramecia (Hashirama from Naruto or Kurama from YYH)
Magmatic Logia
Earth Logia
Cerberus Zoan
No DF, he just punches people to death…
I honestly cannot even begin to think what kind of power Akainu could have. His name translates to “Red Dog”, doesn’t it? Kizaru = Yellow and his power is light (and his kicks and lasers are yellow). Aokiji = Blue and his power revolves around ice based tricks. Akainu must have something red.
I’ll go for “No DF, he just punches people to death.” xD
meheartonepiece answered: I really like that theory about Kizaru’s way of talking! The other one, not so much XDDD
Apoo’s powers are really cool indeed, one of my favourites tbh XD Although turning into a fucking dinosaur is a close second XD
Get ready for intense battles and feels flying at you in the next few episodes ;)
I don’t feel like I’ve got the full picture of what Apoo can do yet, but I totally underestimated him the first time I saw him.
It is ridiculously intense already. WTF is Kuma doing popping up like that? D:
laughingstorm answered: The Supernovas have such a great mix of powers. Too bad they don’t really help against the Power of LIGHT. And if you were freaked out by Borsalino, just wait until you meet Sakazuki again.
I am honestly having trouble imagining what Akainu could possibly have up his sleeve that would be able to beat Kizaru. O_O
nounoursonne answered: annnnd now we all wait for the 404/405 reaction, because big heavy stuff incoming.
All I’m able to write without spoiling x)
Zoro is freaking gone! ;_;
I am fairly sure he’s not dead, but if Kuma has teleported him to Impel Down, or Mariejois, I will be MAAAD.
blogquantumreality answered: I normally watch with the sound off because hearing the Japanese just screws up my lipreading when reading the subtitles. Even so, Kizaru grated on my nerves, because he looks and acts annoying - being all “ooh I’m totes Mr. Fake Laid-Back and then FZZZZOOOWWWWWW ha ha suck eggs. ”When I saw this, I was quite shocked to see Luffy ordering his nakama away from Sabaody Archipelago. Never once before has he given up on a fight, and now here he is, essentially conceding the Straw Hats are no longer capable of simply steamrollering the opposition.:O <– That was my reaction basically.
I was shocked but also proud of Luffy for being sensible and considering the safety of his crew over his own pride. I am also happy this has happened. The Strawhats need another set back. Stories are always more interesting when the heroes have to struggle to achieve what they want. ^_^
I love that summary of Kizaru. xD
slaxtheraven answered: Episode error 404: Zoro not found…._.
yetimati answered: Just be grateful Luffy isnt one of those “oh no, I ain’t no turning my back to my enemy cuz pride and shit”, he know when to retreat and when to attack.
So grateful. You have no idea how much that trope annoys me. It is so common in shounen manga, I was not expecting Oda to subvert it. I’m also pretty happy it happened, plot-wise. It gets boring when the heroes become too strong. They need something to strive for.
Also, in a funny way, Moria’s last words to them were prophetic. The New World really has flattened them and they’ve only just got there.
meheartonepiece answered: Ok, so… When you mentioned Mayuri, my first thought was of Mayuri from Steins;gate, so I was like O~O WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN but then I saw it was from Bleach XDDDDamn, that baseball thing! As a science nerd, it was very interesting to me XDDD I hope Kizaru never learns about baseball! For all of our sakes…Speaking of baseball, do you know about the one piece baseball and football shorts? They’re hilarious and great and you should watch them sometime XDDD
Haha, it was definitely the psychotic scientist from Bleach. That scene was one of the most savage finishing moves I’ve ever seen. xD
Let us hope he never retires and decides to take up a sport in his spare time.
I know about the baseball and football shorts but I haven’t watched them yet. sparkthefox put me onto them. ^_^
cheffailure answered: Yep, the link between the Pacifistas’ laser and Kizaru’s ability was all I wanted to hear.
As for Chopper, he never appeared in the East Blue Saga, hence his lack of appearances. The Alabasta Saga, on the other hand, rectified this oversight.
Oh, good! I’m glad that’s all it was. I was afraid I had missed something huge.
I am also glad to see Chopper gets his fair share of colour spreads in the future. I just had no idea how many chapters it took for Oda to reach Alabasta.
slaxtheraven answered: OKAY time to clear the confusion. The name of Kizaru’s fruit is Pika Pika no Mi in Japenese. Pika is an onomatopeia for light/glint/glimmer. Official English name of it is Glint Glint fruit, however many people just call it the light fruit/logia.
(Chu is a Japanese onomatopeia for the sounds of mice, hence Pikachu. Rai in Raichu means thunder.)
Kizaru crack theory: he’s on crack.
Kizaru mentioned the name of his fruit in 404. CR translated it as the Glint Glint fruit. I like that word. I like Pika too. Lots of excellent sparkly sounding light words. ^_^
I like that Kizaru crack theory. xD
sparkthefox answered: Ah, the scientific discussions regarding the natural physics of Devil Fruit powers. Despite some arguing that there is faulty logic, I’ve actually been able to make sense out of the physics displayed in the series, at least within Canon. For example, Kizaru’s light speed kick is heavily argued as not being actual speed of light provided it’s destructive capacity is nowhere near where it should be, however, it follows the theory of relativistic speed provided that light has virtually zero mass itself. For something to move at the speed of light it cannot have mass, but when something with mass approaches the speed of light it, in theory, creates relativistic mass, greatly increasing the mass of the object in motion. For an example on how something with no mass would react to a subject we need only look at Kizaru’s lasers which merely pass through their target, with the heat from the light itself causing it to burn them. When the beam reaches something it cannot pass through, such as an island or a mangrove, it comes to a halt, however there is still energy behind it and that rapidly expanding energy, or heat, creates an explosion.
That... makes perfect sense. *_*

yetimati answered: Off-topic: ever heard about “character song”, it’s songs sung by the characters’s voice actor and was marketed as “the character is singing this song” (appearantly it sells!). Somehow some OP fans doesn’t even know those songs exist and it’s such a waste, theyre fantastic!OP, to me, have the greatest character songs out of all the anime I have watched, here’s a couple of songs sung by the Strawhats, they fulfill the band AU fantasy just fine ;) and you’ll be suprised to learn that Luffy is actually a brilliant singer (BLASPHEMY!)Devil’s Fruit: /watch?v=MUKFga10tzE (5-member crew)Jungle Fever: /watch?v=XVldP46a8kY (7-member crew)A thousand dreamers: /watch?v=uQoUvV1bGFY(9-member crew)
I would advice you not look at the suggestion vids, although theyre mostly just songs, some of them contain spoilery images.Enjoy. ;)
I was put onto a bunch of songs by the characters (I listened to one sung by Chopper and it was just too sad).
You wouldn’t think Luffy was a great singer, considering that island song he kept singing over and over on Skypiea. xD It’s strange hearing Zoro sing. I get the impression, in canon, he’d rather go to the execution block than be caught singing. xD
I actually like A Thousand Dreamers... Bookmarked. xD
littlebunny123world answered: Aokiji devil fruit is very op, he nulifies devil fruits weakness(water) by just making ice paths or whatever. Helps that 90% of the world is water.
Both Admirals I’ve met so far have been ridiculously powerful. I wonder what the hell Akainu will have in store for me. O_O
laughingstorm answered: I think you’re going to have fun watching Borsalino and the rookies next episode. You get to see some more Devil Fruits.
Borsalino is on a whole other level! D: I’m beginning to get the measure of the unholy power of an Admiral. Now I see why everyone runs when they turn up. Damn... (X-Drake’s DF is amazing, by the way. xD)
meheartonepiece answered: Ahaha~ Get ready for many many twists and turns in the near future, with new abilities and enemies flying around everywhere ;)You know what, I don’t think I’ve actually seen anyone successfully take on Kizaru unless they’re a freakin beast or a legend. Of course, considering his power level, it’s completely understandable.
I totally understand that. I mean, come on! How can you beat light? The only person I can think of who could take him out for good would be Blackbeard because he’s a walking black hole and he said himself, “Not even light can escape.”
nounoursonne answered: Indeed what is up with Kuma eh ? I was sooo confused back then… (Not that Kuma is a 100% solved mystery, we still know like 5% about this guy)
I’m glad you enjoy the abilities of the supernovas, you’ll still discover more (you’ll have seen them while answering this probably), Some of them are quite the show !
Yeah I don’t want to say the fun part of Sabaody is ever but… yeah, put your emotion’s security belt nearby…
X-Drake’s dinosaur power is rad. I think Apoo needs to work on his cringe rhymes, but his power itself is awesome. Urougue is just generally awesome but pure strength can be a bit boring. Hawkins’ power, if it’s related to predicting the future, could be a game changer for the plot in future.
half-man-half-lime answered: Some stuff on Kizaru’s and Urouge’s powers:First of all, Kizaru is one of the most OP characters in One Piece. Just this piece (https://what-if.xkcd.com/1/) shows how dangerously that power can be abused, when an object moving near the speed of light can result in the equivalent of a nuclear explosion. Plus (according to my Friend Who Knows Science, who I’m taking at his word), he could theoretically create an inescapable cage of light which slows down time outside from the perspective of whoever’s trapped in it. Theoretically. On Urouge, the original Mad Monk was apparently famous for his power over the human body. So if I had to guess, I’d say he probably uses a much more powerful version of the techniques Kumadori uses to control his hair! Just a theory, of course.
That baseball comic is both hilarious and terrifying. Kizaru’s powers are definitely OP. The potential for destruction is limitless.
That inescapable cage of light sounds brilliant. It reminds me of that fight from Bleach when Mayuri finished off Szayel Apollo by poisoning him with a substance that both paralysed him and made everything seem painfully slow. Mayuri stabbed him and stated it would seem as though it would take an age to pierce his chest. I always thought that was savage. xD
doctorvix answered: The fun thing is that Kizaru universally considered to be the weakest of the C3 (Colored Trio), not by much, but still… Aokiji is the 2nd and Akainu is the strongest…
EH? Kizaru is considered the weakest? What the hell has Akainu got up his sleeve then? D:
yetimati answered: Well, Kizaru’s power aside, the way this guy talk is also incredibly annoying. Whenever he appears I just want to punch the shit out of his mouth. I swear to god he sound like he’s high on weed 120% of the time.
He does speeeeeak ridiiiiculously slooooooowly, doesn’t he? I bet Sengoku always lets him take his annual leave on 4/20. xD
paddster answered: In theory Kizaru´s powers should be way too strong, since he is the only one who can move at the speed of light but like in american comics it gets downplayed. Also a little hint for the Kuma thing, didnt you miss something that Kuma usually always has with him… ? ;)
Oh and one more thing, the power of bonny is friggin scary, it´s kind of played for laughs in the series but just thinking about the consequences (the affects on ones life like family, job etc) Ó.ò But then again maybe the effects wear off after a certain amount of time.
I know, right? Half-man-half-lime linked me to a xkcd comic on the speed of light and an object moving even at 90% of that speed can cause ridiculous destruction. xD
Ah, shit. How could I have missed that bible? D:
I was kind of hoping the effects of Bonney’s power wear off after a while. Otherwise, it’s proper harsh.
supramp9000 answered: Kizaru and the power of light. For such an interesting concept, he isn’t explored as much as I’d like. From supplementary text we know that he’s the oldest Admiral, and due to his absence at a certain event people believe him to be the weakest of them. That idea however has yet to be confirmed.
It’s a given, he is by far the fastest character seem in the series to date, and due to his logia status he is effectively intangible unless caught off guard. So, how does one fight him?
I think Apoo might have given a clue as to how you could begin to fight him. A fruit with mind-control power, or something that hypnotises (like Apoo’s power) could be useful. Then you have Blackbeard, who is a living black hole. Not even light can escape.
tempus-nexus answered: Kizaru ate the light-light fruit, which is a logia fruit. he’s made of light and lazers. There’s a few people who can go toe-to-toe with him, but not many.
I cannot wait to see those people who can go toe-to-toe with him. They must be monsters. D:
littlebunny123world answered: Roger died from an uncurable disease… hmmm, what was chopper’s dream again? ;D
My jaw just dropped.
Oh my god, I can just see how this thing is going to end. Chopper will save the day and save Luffy from dying like Roger. ;_;
cheffailure answered: Oh for the love of… I can never control how many pixels the links will turn out with…
Anyway, now that you’ve seen Kizaru’s capacity for yourself, can you recall a question I posed way back in Thriller Bark? If not, then I want you to try drawing a comparison between him and Kuma. See anything?
Yeah, I’ll pump out some more. Truth be told, I would have just linked you to the wiki page containing all of them, but that is dangerous spoiler territory. Let’s go way back to the ol’ East Blue Saga for now.
Chapter 1
Chapter 12
Chapter 28
Chapter 52
Chapter 61
Chapter 70
Chapter 79
Chapter 100
As you may have noticed, Oda’s imagination has always been there, even back then.
He has really come a long way since though.
Zoro looks demonic in the chapter twelve colour spread. Even back then, there was something scarily serious about him. Loved that one with the sentient vegetables on the back of the Shanks-driven cart. There is a distinct lack of Chopper, though. In which chapter was he introduced?
I cannot recall the question and, for some reason, I can’t search through all of the tags. :( A comparison between Kizaru and Kuma? The only thing I can think of right now is the obvious: the laser beam abilities, their speed and that Vegapunk has probably experimented with both.
slaxtheraven answered: There are two more named characters in Roger’s crew. One of them is this fellow, Scopper Gaban.
This picture is from Buggy flashback, chapter 19 by the way. His name was revealed in a Databook so it’s no spoilers. However, you haven’t seen the other dude yet as he appears in Episode 0.
So, basically, anyone with a metal hidden in their name is probably a member of Roger’s crew? That’s awesome.
blogquantumreality answered: Bonney’s ability is kind of understated until you really realize just what she could do with it. Kind of like Law. What good is “Room”? Actually… a helluva lot! :O Kizaru and Kuma made me go like O_O OHSHI, for sure.
I definitely agree that sometimes comparing fansubbed versions to the “official” subs can be illuminating regarding exactly how the Japanese was rendered, particularly for pivotal or important scenes. And to be fair the fansubs for Sabaody Archipelago are somewhat better than for Thriller Bark.
Also, regarding this: “tempus-nexus answered: Kizaru ate the light-light fruit, which is a logia fruit. he’s made of light and lazers. There’s a few people who can go toe-to-toe with him, but not many.“Believe it or not, in Japanese the fruit is called the Pika Pika fruit.Yep.
I forgot to put the ? again in my post. I need question marks tattooed onto the backs of my hands, I swear.
What made me O_O about Kuma was when Franky explained how he might have been made. He’s either a clone, someone who looks exactly like Kuma, or a human modified to look like him. The third scenario is Nightmare Fuel.
The Pika Pika fruit, eh? I do hope the requisite pokemon jokes and edits have been made by the OP fandom?
x-chick303 answered: Kizaru’s Devil fruit is actually called the Glint Glint Fruit.
Is that another one of those fansub/official translation issues again?
quietlypining4fanfiction answered: Kizaru is intruiging. One piece has so many characters I would love to see more of, except at the same time I enjoy the story just as it is for the most part. Here’s an amv with Zoro’s backstory: youtu.be/gHipdgU…
His powers are so ridiculous, it’d be a crime not to show him more. Maybe that’s the problem. He’s too powerful to fit comfortably into the story. The only person I can see taking him out is Blackbeard.
That AMV makes me wonder what it would be like if Zoro and Tashigi met again. Zoro has become much stronger. It’d be interesting to see if Tashigi could keep up.
sommersang answered: As a little aside to the coming episodes: The title of 405 is pretty spoilery, so you may want to avoid it.
Thanks for the heads-up! Not sure if I’ll be able to avoid it on that spoileriffic Crunchyroll drop-down menu, but I’ll try. ^_^
desumeowmeownekokitty-chan answered: You’re about to see the weirdness of Scratchman Apoo. That guy has some of the strangest powers in the whole show, and for One Piece that is certainly saying something.
His power was crazier than I thought it would be. His rhymes are cringe, but what he did to Kizaru was O_O. I don’t think I completely understood it. I’d need to see him fight again.
livesmileandstaystrong answered: Oh man. Shit’s finally hit the fan. From now on, expect a nonstop rollercoaster of feelings. I told you you wouldn’t wanna see Kizaru fight XD Also, the bond between Roger and Rayleigh is very much like Luffy-Zoro. It’s the Captain-First mate bond
I think Kizaru is awesome now, but I love the Strawhats and the other pirates so much I cannot root for him. xD
It’s sad to imagine Luffy not being there one day and Zoro wandering the high seas, being cut up about it but soldiering on. That’s why Chopper has to find that panacea. Just in case of disease. ;)
