Laxli + old ghosts?
Laxus had never believed in ghosts before. But seeing Lisanna, on Tenrou Island? He would be lying if he said he hadn't, even after confirming that she was, in fact, alive after all.
Coming home to a changed Fairy Tail had solidified the notion of ghosts in his head. Everywhere he turned, he could see the old ghosts of the people he could have sworn he had known so clearly just - to his perception - mere months before. But then again, what has his failed coup proven if not that he didn't even know his own heart, let alone his guildmates.
He wouldn't even touch upon the conundrum that Mavis's literal apparition hanging around presented.
But he wasn't alone, he discovered. Sure, several of the returned Tenrou guild members were having difficulty adjusting. However... it wasn't like what Lisanna was experiencing alongside Laxus.
It wasn't overt, mind. Lisanna had always liked to play mediator between her siblings and the world, and that had translated over to even mediating how she expressed her own feelings.
Every once in a while, Laxus would catch sight of her watching everyone with the same bewilderment that welled up within himself - struggling to reconcile the people in front of them with their afterimages within their memories.
It was the closest Laxus felt to anyone, these days.
