guy calls himself mlm but there's confusion if he means marxist-leninist-maoist or men-love-men
im so socialist that even my red blood cell levels are high
the luigi mangione thing has melted people's brains. this kind of nihilistic, individual terror isn't productive and it's what disillusioned liberals do when they feel as if they're the Main Character and that real politics (organising a mass movement) is beneath them.
mangione's assassination has no 'increased class consciousness' (as people are saying), it isn't class consciousness to think shooting ceos is okay/funny. this stuff undermines class consciousness by misleading people into thinking that the system can be destroyed by shooting all the 'bad guys'.
You should be trying to organise healthcare workers and agitating against the private healthcare system, not posting about how Luigi Mangione is a hunk or whatever dumb shit leftoids are doing these days.
Marxism long ago disclosed the underlying kinship between liberalism and anarcho-terrorism. Both liberalism and terrorism repudiate reliance upon the independent and revolutionary organisation and activity of the working masses which is the essence of Marxist politics. Liberalism looks to “progressive, peace-loving” politicians among the capitalist ruling circles to lead the way to the solution of the problems of society. Erstwhile liberals turned terrorist, though thoroughly disillusioned with the old methods, are nevertheless still contemptuous of the masses and rely upon conspiracy and dynamite to do the job. Terrorism is petty-bourgeois liberalism temporarily gone berserk. Both are equally injurious to the promotion of a genuinely proletarian revolutionary movement.
^ Ernest Mandel, 'Marxism or Neo-Anarchist Terrorism?'
I am high, so I am going to describe a genre of person I hate: "Leftist academics." They're always hyping up absolute drivel that they've never read but merely skimmed for its aesthetic value and stylish pessimism. I've read some of that shit. Spare me the ass-sunbeams and bodies without organs. Then they condescend when you tell them you think there is an objective reality, actually, and that things happen for reasons, and there are laws to how all this shit works. But oh, no, it couldn't possibly be that simple! "We are living in an atomized reality cut off from the original referents of the signs of signs and the only possible action is to smugly tell people how they should despair" FUCK YOU eclectic ass motherfuckers! And then they tell you that they're actually postcolonial neo-marxists who "take the useful parts from postmodern philosophy" and they like to cherry-pick their Marxism and Leninism, without paying any regard to the METHOD that was used to arrive at their REVOLUTIONARY conclusions! What made Marx revolutionary was his philosophy which actually connected an understanding of the patterns of historical change with its basis, the development of the productive forces! Heaven forbid we strive for the utmost unity, class-consciousness, and confidence of the working class!
An update regarding the Marxist-Leninist Party of North America (original post with some details). (For anyone who assumes I'm a bot because of the em-dashes: I'm human, I just like using em-dashes and en-dashes contextually; you can easily copy them from here)
After the formal passing of an internal document, I'm officially informing the public about this party being formed, the elephant in the room being that much has yet to be developed: formalization of the party's name, the new internationalist national identity (and whether the demonym should be shortened to Noame, Nowete, or something similar), the party constitution, formal establishment of a congress and party chairworker, et cetera.
While this probably isn't the best platform to bring this up, I've yet to build a party website (as I do have the programming knowledge to do so, albeit rudimentary) on account of its underdevelopment. As was clarified previously, the party line will be avoiding the revisionist, reformist, dogmatist, opportunist, idealist, and chauvinist trends which are present in the other Socialist and workers' parties in the USA—some bearing one or two, some many.
I'm formally establishing the draft of the Party's minimum required Marxist-Leninist theory reading list as follows:
The Principles of Communism by Friedrich Engels (Marxists Internet Archive) (Audiobook) Manifesto of the Communist Party (The Communist Manifesto) by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels (MIA) (Audiobook) Socialism: Utopian and Scientific by Friedrich Engels (MIA mirror) (Audiobook) [1] Value, Price, and Profit by Karl Marx (MIA) (Audiobook) The State and Revolution by Vladimir Lenin (MIA) (Audiobook) Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism by Vladimir Lenin (MIA) (Audiobook) What Is to Be Done? Burning Questions of Our Movement by Vladimir Lenin (MIA) (Audiobook) "Left-Wing" Communism: An Infantile Disorder by Vladimir Lenin (MIA) (Audiobook) Combat Liberalism by Mao Tse-Tung (MIA) (Audiobook) [2] Oppose Book Worship by Mao Tse-Tung (MIA) (Audiobook) On Practice by Mao Tse-Tung (MIA) (Audiobook) On Contradiction by Mao Tse-Tung (MIA) (Audiobook) On the Correct Handling of Contradictions Among the People by Mao Tse-Tung (MIA) (Audiobook) Theses on the Organizational Structure of the Communist Parties and the Methods and Content of their Work by the Third Congress of the Communist International (MIA) (Audiobook) Capital, Volume 1 by Karl Marx (MIA) (Audiobook) [3] These are in place for the following respective reasons: An FAQ about the absolute basics of Communism. An agitational document which elucidates on The Principles of Communism. An explanation of what scientific (Wissenschaft) Socialism—Marxism—actually is, and why utopian and idealist ideologies such as anarchism are incompatible with materialism, and consequently, counter-revolutionary. An explanation of how trade unions are still useful to the Marxist movement. (Note: We cannot be only trade-unionist, otherwise known as economism, as elucidated by Lenin in What Is to Be Done.) An explanation of the purpose of the state, how it can be used by the proletariat, and how to achieve the proletarian state. An explanation of how international capitalism functions. (Note: This is why, "technofeudalism," is a farce. An elaboration can be found in Thomas Sankara's Political Orientation Speech, albeit its only current English translation is difficult to understand and poorly translated.) An explanation of something every actually Marxist party needs to do in order to actually be functional, and critiques of parties which abandoned Marxism and consequently fell out of public favour when they refused these principles. An explanation of why the leftcom tendency is inherently counter-revolutionary, and further elaboration upon What Is to Be Done. A reminder to ensure the party is actually active, performing praxis instead of just running their mouths. An explanation of why you can't only rely on what you read in theory, and must investigate your specific conditions. Parts 1, 2, and 3, respectively, elucidating how to investigate, using the method of unity-struggle-unity (unity-struggle-transformation). A self-explanatory title: how to build and run a Communist party.
[1] Socialism: Utopian and Scientific is part of a larger work called Anti-Duhring, which will be considered additional reading. (MIA) (Audiobook part 1, part 2, part 3) [2] Tse-Tung is the original Anglicization of Zedong. [3] Members will also be expected to read Volumes 2-4 (the last of which being titled Theories of Surplus Value), but these will be considered additional reading. (MIA, 2) (Audiobook, 2) (MIA, 3) (Audiobook, 3) (MIA, 4) (Audiobook, 4)
The following works by Ho Chi Minh, which lack English audiobooks, are also recommended:
Instructions Given at the Conference Reviewing the Second Le Hong Phong Military Campaign (MIA) Instructions Given At The Conference Reviewing The Mass Education In The First Half Of 1956 (MIA) Consolidation and Development of Ideological Unity Among Marxist-Leninist Parties (MIA) The Path Which Led Me to Leninism (MIA)
These are recommended for the following respective reasons:
An common-sense explanation a la Mao Tse-Tung about party discipline and ethical treatment of workers. An explanation about mass education; while largely regarding agricultural peasants, 130 million USAmericans read at or below a sixth-grade level, and the average USAmerican reads between a seventh- and eighth-grade level. (More gradationed statistics here which demonstrate even worse statistics than elucidated here) A critique of how Stalin's cult of personality negatively affected democratic centralism outside of the USSR, which consequently serves as further warning to avoid cults of personality like that of Bob Avakian, a Trotskyist. A likely familiar experience explaining how Ho Chi Minh was originally a vibes-based Communist and, once he read Marxist-Leninist theory, finally understood topics which he had previously spouted nonsense about.
Official party audio recordings and study guides will be established at a later time.
This party will:
Specifically be Marxist-Leninist, not just nebulously Communist
Seek to actually investigate the specific conditions of North America, drawing in Canadian workers to the movement if feasible, and determine the specific solutions to those specific conditions through unity-struggle-unity to develop Socialism with North American characteristics
Attempt to follow the party line established by the previously elucidated theory, in turn acknowledging that dogmatically holding the party line, bowing to spontaneity, or engaging in leftcom adventurism would all stray from Marxism: Marxism is meant to be used as a method, not a dogma, and one can't climb directly up the side of a mountain; instead, sometimes switchbacks or even going down to go back up further elsewhere is necessary to progress to the summit
Seek to engage and unity the general proletarian struggle with the struggles of Landback and Indigenous liberation, Black liberation, Queer liberation, Trans liberation, feminist women's liberation, and other liberatory movements, along a Marxist-Leninist line, acknowledging that Communism cannot be achieved without intersectional liberation, and additionally that abandoning Marxism-Leninism would in turn abandon intersectional liberation
With this party line established, I'm formally opening up the party to public discussion to begin the process of establishing a larger and more functional Marxist-Leninist congress, and by extension, formally establish the Marxist-Leninist Party of North America
While this account currently has private messages and comments both enabled for mutuals only, asks and quote reblogs are welcome; I'm unclear on what organizational space should be used for cleaner discussion, especially given Discord's recent surveillance reinforcement
In case you were wondering, the current party is comically small, disorganized, partially scattered, slow, and there's some irony in me teaching the other members about Marxism-Leninism; I won't pretend the party is already in a democratic centralist position—more members (particularly educated Marxist-Leninists) are needed and proper investigation must be done
Due to the clarification of party density being more necessary than thin party spread in Theses on the [...] Communist Parties... by the ComIntern, comrades in the Kaskaskia region (original population decimated by colonizers; remaining descendants absorbed into Peoria) and the general Great Lakes Region would be a particular boon
