Is it me or Garona’s parenting makes even less sense on Chronicle Vol. 2?
The dates make no sense at all; Leran was captured 8 years before the Dark Portal, which led her brother Maraad to urge Velen to finally retaliate against the Bladewind Orcs after news of the prisoners being horribly killed and sacrificed (Bladewind had been attacking/abducting draenei for years, yet never with such viciousness)
In less than a year (It happens before the 7th year mark) The draenei decimate the Bladewind and Maraad finds his sister dead.
Yet when we are introduced to Garona, we are only mentioned that her father was a great warrior and told the Bladewind mistreated and used her as an interpreter; and when the Bladewind were decimated, Garona fled into the wilderness of Terrokar before being found by Gul’dan and inducted into the Shadow Council.
The destruction of the Bladewinds is what ignites the creation of the Horde, by 7 DBP, the Horde has already been united for months.
So unless Garona is the most precocious less than one year old baby It doesn’t make any sense.
Is this a mistake? Or are they hinting that Garona is not Maraad’s niece? Cause in no sentence the connection is made on the book.
The Bladewind had started attacking (and abducting) the Draenei as distrust rose after the defense of Shattrath from the Highmaul Ogres, a century before the Black Portal, so Garona could have been born from another prisoner before Leran.
So either it is a mistake and Leran was most likely abducted years before 8 BDP, or this is a hint that Leran could not be her mother. Thoughts?
