Enjoy crispy and healthy homemade French fries made in the air fryer. These fries are a guilt-free indulgence, with less oil and a delicious seasoning blend.
Ingredients: 4 large russet potatoes, washed and peeled. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 1 teaspoon salt. 1/2 teaspoon paprika. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. Cooking spray optional.
Instructions: After peeling the potatoes, cut them into thin strips or wedges that are about 1/4 inch thick. Soak the potato strips for 30 minutes in a large bowl of cold water. Use a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to dry them off after draining. Toss the dried potato strips with the garlic powder, salt, olive oil, and paprika in a bowl, making sure they are covered evenly. For about 5 minutes, heat your air fryer up to 380F 190C. If your air fryer needs to be heated up first, spray cooking spray on the air fryer basket to keep food from sticking. For easy cleanup, you can line the basket with parchment paper that has holes in it if it doesn't. Spread the potato strips out in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Depending on how big your air fryer is, you might have to cook them one at a time. For 15 to 20 minutes at 380F 190C, cook the fries in the air fryer. To make sure they cook evenly, shake the basket or flip the fries over halfway through the cooking time. They are done when they are golden brown and crispy. Take the fries out of the air fryer and, if you want, add more salt. Serve hot with the sauce of your choice.
