I’m on full #wfhm mode 👩🏻‍💻💓💰 • it has been a crazy busy week, so I’m here helping Bella in learning and practicing the letter Gg while I work! It hasn’t been easy but I simply love what I do💙 and I love being able to do it next to them! . SMALL CHANGES CAN LEAD TO BIG RESULTS IN ACHIVING HEALTHY WEIGHT It’s an ongoing process. Small, gradual, sustainable changes are most effective. Here are a few strategies that may be helpful. Keep a food diary. This provides insight into what you eat and how much. To do it: • Write down everything you eat and drink for three days. Every thing counts. • Use the Portion Controlled meal method • Try free online tools & phone apps to help track food intake & exercise. • Take time to reflect on what, how much, and why you eat. Ask yourself: o Are your portions too large? o Could you be making better food choices? o Are you an emotional eater? o Would making changes help you lose weight? Track your exercise. Exercise is important for everyone, not just those looking to lose or maintain their weight. • Aim to take 10,000 steps per day. • Track each day, and set a goal to increase by 500 steps each week until you reach your target. • Don’t sit for more than one hour at a time. It can be a risk factor for heart disease. Set a timer to get up and move around often. Try alternatives to fast food when on the go. Be prepared if you have a busy day with no time for a meal. • Keep a protein or meal replacement bar or protein shake handy.. LET’S SEE WHAT IS ENERGY BALANCE Energy balance occurs when the amount of energy you consume matches the amount expended. When the calories you consume from food and drinks are about equal to the calories your body burns, your body weight will remain constant as its in energy balance. Any excess calories you eat beyond your energy needs are stored as body fat. The excess can come from foods containing carbohydrates, proteins, or fats. • If you eat more calories than your body burns, you will gain weight. • If you eat fewer calories than your body burns, you will lose weight. There are individual variations on how bodies respond to more or less food. For some people, eating more calories increases their metabolic rate and they will not gain much weight. For others, the rate will not increase, and they will likely gain weight. Even small differences in caloric intake can add up to cause weight gain over time. Also depends on what is your body type from the following 3 types • Ectomorphs are long and lean, with little body fat, and little muscle. They have a hard time gaining weight. • Endomorphs, on the other hand, have lots of body fat, lots of muscle, and gain weight easily.. • Mesomorphs are athletic, solid, and strong. "They're not overweight and not underweight," "and they can eat what they want without worrying too much about it." They both gain and lose weight without too much effort. DO YOU HAVE THE QUESTION IN MIND – HOW TO REDUCE BELLY / TUMMY & LOSE FAT. Then there is bad news, you can’t specifically target your tummy and lose fat. Irrespective of gender or age fat increases in our body in the same pace or rate. It does not start from a part & spread to other parts. It starts accumulating from cheek to calf. In the same pace. So there is no way you can have spot reducing of fat in a certain area. If someone is claiming then they are giving you crap. So what can you do to lose body fat/weight….. Have a right & positive mind set. Adopt small changes & do it for long term with patience. Become conscious of what you eat & drink before putting in your mouth. Use stairs instead of elevators( I know you are paying society charges), park your car bit far from your destination & take opportunity to walk. Don’t expect fast results as this is one reason lot of people get demotivated & give up. Promise at least 30+ minutes of work out every day, be it gym, jogging, dancing, zumba, aerobic. Eat quality food. Rich & high in protein, minerals, Vitamin, fats, quality carbohydrates & a calorific deficit diet (calorie intake is lesser than calorie output). Drink enough water through the day which is very important for weight management. Have enough Sleep(both quality & quantity) Build healthy environment around you, reduce stress. Every thing sounds simple & said than done. My personal recommendation is work with an experienced Wellness/Health Coach for best results. So, focus on the goals (long term benefits) that is “healthy active lifestyle” rather then immediate results(pleasure).
